    Did Bud duck Pacquiao?

Crawford Wants Pacquiao at 140. On Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Terence Crawford punched his way to a lopsided 12-round unanimous decision over Viktor Postol Saturday to unify the World Boxing Organization and World Boxing Council super lightweight world titles.

its weird he tried to drain Pac even though he is a lot bigger

I thought Pac ducked Bud as he wanted to fight Spence. If Pac signed to fight Bud, Pac would be ducking Spence test. So Pac had to fight them all. The standards were a little too high for Pac.

If you can find a boxingscene link about Bomac going berserk when someone mentioned the idea of fighting Pac, then that might answer a large part of your question. It was clear then that Bomac and TC were okay with the flow of Bud's career, making $1 mil+ fighting the likes of Beltran, Molina, Diaz, Lundy, Dierry, etc. when Spence was just making $200K or maybe even less in comparison at that time.

At that time, Pacman was fighting at 147 and Bud was at 140, can't really call it a duck if they weren't in the same weight class. Why the fight couldn't be made - weight disagreements, Arum wanting to steer Pac in another direction, who knows?

I read somewhere before Arums plan was to have bud vs pac in a passing of the torch type situation. I can't remember which side declined though

Bud resigned with TR because they dangled the Pac fight in front of him and it never happened. They told him he was going to face Taylor but he got embarrassed in a fight he should had lost.

I think Crawford wanted to get paid more than he was worth for the risk and insisted on 140 knowing it wasn't going to happen. There was no financial incentive for Manny to move down to 140 for Crawford--who was/is unable to fill seats outside of Omaha and can't generate PPV buys. This would have been another fight being carried on Manny's name and fanbase.
