It's a fair explanation, I don't think you have an answer so its easier to bail, that's cool I get it, I didn't say he ducked Crawford and I didn't say he was scared they are your words, I said I don't think he was keen because of the style of Bud, that's professional matchmaking that's what they do, fan talk is scared and duck I never use those terms with elite fighters its not how they think.Last edited by Roadblock; 11-21-2022, 03:55 PM.Comment

All good its one of those we will never know deals, injuries happen and fans will make all kinds of assumptions based on anything from new shoes to a change of diet, I try and look at the broader bigger picture.Comment

AT THE TIME, Bud made it clear in a number of interviews Pacquiao wasn't really on his radar. He wasn't going to pray to win the Pacquiao sweepstakes that every other fighter was dying to win.
At the time, it was looked at as surprising and interesting. Nothing more than that.
Looking back now and seeing the choices Bud has made, it's clear the guy just makes terrible decisions. If he'd fought Pacquiao - win or lose - he'd have ascended to the mainstream and wouldn't be the PPV dud he is today. And the fact that he's not a box-office draw is ultimately the reason they couldn't get the Spence fight done, so it's all connected.
The man is just really ****** and makes bad decisions. Plain and simple.Last edited by paulf; 11-21-2022, 05:00 PM.Comment

Did Bud duck Pacquiao?
This but the opposite
This was in 2016. When Crawford was at 140. When he moved up in 2018 he fought Horn immediately.Comment

Spence was willing to go to 164 for a Canelo fight and Bud wouldn’t budge from 140 for an easier on paper, Pacquiao fight. Bud refused to take a pay cut during the pandemic. I think it’s clear who the bigger diva is in negotiationsComment
