One of the growing problems in boxing. There have always been cases of champions avoiding tough challenges, but now so many ex-champs avoid challenges as well, just waiting for their next undeserved title shot. As a result, the best upcoming talents don't get much chance to prove themselves and build their reputation.

Easy to avoid the up and comers when you’re gifted the champions. This has been my complaint for years with Danny, Porter, and Ugas. They fight bums inbetween undeserved championship fights. Not good for boxing. But it’s an obvious Haymon strategy.

10 million isn't what it used to be. Earn 10, wind up with 4 after taxes. Training and vultures eat up a lot of the rest. Keith trying to make ends meet

Thurman acting like a coward. Plain and simple.

I'm not a fan of the Once Upon A Time Thurman. But this $10 mil story sounds to me like it's not true.

              Translated:

Keef said YES TO FIGHTING BOOTS (just wanted to get paid for it) . Unlike Crawford who didn't consider it at all.

I can't fault Thurman for knowing his worth and demanding he get paid appropriately. His inactivity has hurt him, yes, but let's not forget his accolades. Former unified welterweight champion with wins over a younger Porter and Danny Garcia. He also gave an older legend Manny Pacquiao a run for his money. I don't think Thurman was pricing himself out. Asking for $10 mil for a fight that would rely heavily on his name and fame is appropriate in my opinion.

That's just it, 10 million isnt his worth. He's currently irrelevant in today's boxing scene. He doesn't have any belts, he's been inactive and hasn't had a meaningful win in how long? He barley beat a gimpy Lopez. Wins against Porter and Garcia aren't exactly much to crow about, both are solid B level competition.

Pricing himself out. He isn’t the first fighter in recent years to do this. Didn’t Benavidez price himself out of an Andrade fight by asking for a similar purse?

It’s the best way to duck without ducking.

this is like quillin asking for 20 million to fight golovkin when golovkin was earning ~1 million. ennis wouldn't get more than 1 million and thurman asks for 10. i don't know how ANYBODY thinks that is fair. nobody good gives a chance to young fighters and then say they haven't fought anybody yet. well of course if everybody relevant avoids them.
