But no one except boxing fans remember most boxers anyway. And Spence isn't Floyd or something. If Crawford ko's Spence, it isn't like he will forever be remembered.
We fans all want the fight. Apparentlly so do Crawford and Spence. Haymon is the guy that offered zero guarantee. Spence is his fighter, if anyone is getting screwed it is Bud. And Haymon turned down a simple meeting to even hear a money proposal.
The more I see how the Spence fans are over the top with it, I am kind of laughing that Bud walked away. Spence's biggest win is Porter, who almost beat him, who Bud then stopped. Bud called for the Spence fight for years, Haymon blocked it.
Categorically false narrative. Haymon didn’t block a fight that was never proposed. Dud pretended for years he was gonna fight pacquaio but bob was never gonna let manny destroy dud that early in his career. Dud ducked mikey garcia DSG prograis josh Taylor…then when manny got a little old dud pretended to want that fight too but bob knew even an older manny would light dud up. Dud was on Russ Anbers show a night ago claiming Ricky burns and Julius indongo were signature wins. Delusional dud duckford. Could u imagine manny pacquaio trying to claim joshua clottey Chris Algieri and Jesse Vargas as signature wins?is it not just me that can hear dumb dud sounds when he says this? Like he cat be serious with that **** lol

I hate that Bud hasn't had better comp. But Bud said he wanted Spence for years. Spence said, uh, up to my manager. They did not want it.
Bud has beaten good fighters, held belts in three divisions, is undefeated and stopped his opponent in like six of his last fights. Spence is basic, boring and fights to not get hurt the majority of the time. He had a lead in on a network that gave him some exposure. He isn't that popular, just like Bud.
Bud is 35, three division world champ and knocking all his opponents out. Spence has Porter taking him to an SD and he was scared to death of Mikey landing anything, he stunk that fight up. But we are all supposed to believe that Haymon really wants the fight to happen? Right man.
Bud is not some prospect you treat like a nobody. Give him and Spence guarantees, the fight is on.
I guess technically it won't HURT his legacy. But fighting him will certainly improve his legacy a TON. If the fight doesn't happen, every time his name comes up in a historical context it will be mentioned in detail how he didn't fight the best of his generation.
I like Bud, but his legacy is hinged upon fighting and beating Spence. If not Spence, he'll need to clean out the division of young lions like Ennis and Ortiz, and take care of Thurman once and for all. He is running out of time, especially if he wants to make a run at 154. Charlo would likely vacate belts before fighting him though.
Dude sounds afraid and delusional. Crawford's only monumental victory if you put it in context is against Gamboa. And we see how far Gamboa has fallen from grace; this diminishes Crawford's worth. He needs a fight and victory over Spence. If they never fight, Crawford's legacy as a true great will always be debated.
I know I won't rank him high.....I currently do not
The window of opportunity is closing for bud now at 34 years of age, so if anything he needs Spence more than anything. Get that great win outta way and under your belt then you can take it easier for while and won't be under such pressure for rest of career. Even if you don't get another win after spence, at least you got a spence win in the bag!
How much clearer can it be? He was negotiating another fight with a nobody at the same time as the biggest fight of his career, and he chose to go with the nobody for money over legacy. Damn, I wish it wasn't so, but it is. It seems that he would have to actually say the words, "I ducked Spence, " for some of you on here to see it.
I don't see why he would enter negotiations with Spence if he didn't want to fight him. That doesn't make much sense. Seems to me he just has his terms which team Spence wouldn't meet. Having a back up plan makes sense.
