Passing up the chance to be undisputed will indeed hurt his legacy over time, especially while continuing to fight ordinary comp, TC needs some really big fights he has none.

If the fight happens (and he wins) it would enhance his legacy and he acknowledges that. Imo the only way this fight not happening would really harm his legacy was if it was a clear duck by him. I don't think that is the case at the moment because I haven't seen Crawford making any crazy demands.
How much clearer can it be? He was negotiating another fight with a nobody at the same time as the biggest fight of his career, and he chose to go with the nobody for money over legacy. Damn, I wish it wasn't so, but it is. It seems that he would have to actually say the words, "I ducked Spence, " for some of you on here to see it.

The irony is he would have got a lot more money fighting Spence, so he lost on both counts, money and legacy.

Right when I was beginning to believe in Bud Crawford; Then he flipped on me by pricing himself out of the fight. He doesn't want to fight EJ because he knows he's gonna get his ass whooped. That is why he wants such a high reward because he knows how risky of a fight this really is.

            It won't.

When Errol Spence was laying on a hospital bed after almost self-sabotaging his career and life, I wasn't sitting there thinking to myself, damn Crawford's legacy is done.

Just a thought but maybe Haymon didn't want to put Spence up against a fighter the calibre of Bub.
It will be pretty much a 50/50 fight and which promoters allows their fighter those odds to lose all their belts plus lose an 0.
Maybe Haymon didn't have the money at this time off year to guarantee Bub his money.
I do believe this fight will get made second quarter next yr. With Haymon throwing in a re-match or options on Bub in the contract.
Hes not going to let Bud win the fight then go his own way.
Theirs alot off sticky points to this fight cause Bud is such a good fighter and can de-rail Haymon cash cow atm.

bud doesn't seem like he's going to step up and take on all comers. Spence is the fight People want to see, so bud shouldn't talk about not needing spence,
Trying to fight Charlo will be exact same scenario that we have now with Spence.
unless bub signs for a 3 fight deal or joins PBC this will just be same as Spence negotiations.
Bud just needs to join PBC like Manny did for a 3-5 fight deal to end his career.

I tried to defend him back then, because Roach kept saying Manny would be better at 140, however when Manny said come up, you come up! That was a life-changing moment, and Crawford played hardball, and lost! Now he's playing hardball again, and still losing! However, he's making 8 figures to fight Avanesyan, so I hope he's happy with the money, because he's ruining his legacy!
