The first 2 fights vs Morales ruined MAB? So how come he won the 3rd fight? Can't think of a time somebody was ruined in a fight and then won the rematch.
I just owned Top Ranks Matchmaker Bruce Trampler on Twitter

Neither MAB or Erik Morales were the same after those two fights. I watched it as it happened and followed those fighters as well as the division with a fine toothed comb back then.
MAB, Morales, Shane, Margarito, Cotto, Hatton, and Oscar all had devastating losses 1 year prior to fighting Manny.
Prior to Shane knocking out Margarito, Roach is on film recalling phone calls with Shane where Shane keeps trying to get the Pacquiao fight and Roach says no Shane you're too good. Shane starts look weak, gets dominated by Floyd, goes life & death with Mora and all of a sudden Shane isn't too good anymore.
The highlights of Manny's career was built on cherry-picks and people have the nerve to say Floyd didn't beat his opponents in their primes. Floyd went after his opponents when they were at their best, not their weakest. Manny is cut from a much cheaper cloth than other champions are.Comment

I don't know what's so funny, maybe a wee bit too much elderberry wine perhaps?
I got him to admit he cherry-picked MAB for Pacquiao. Thus, admitting to cherry-picking his entire career. Do you know how many people here I argue with that deny his opponents were cherry-picked? This is valuable ammunition.
They usually show up with shit in their pants.
This is never ever something a matchmaker will openly admit. It's damaging to Top Rank and the Arum legacy. Manny is Arums swansong and to besmirch that with allegations of cherry-picking his career; this congressman no less, would be an act of war coming from another promoter never-mind the person behind it lol.
Sleep it off Citizen........
But you didn't get him to admit anything did you? You got a 'like'. And anyone who knows anything about the sport at this level understands that all careers are crafted to a degree dependent on the relative power of the promoter, the perceived potential value of the fighter and the available opposition. You could make exactly the same point about any top fighter who was built behind any major promoter.
So now you didn't 'own' anything but yeah, sure, if you like low hanging fruit I guess you did get some very questionable ammunition against anyone dumb enough to think that boxing isn't a deeply stage managed sport. Kudos for that I guess... although why you'd bother..?
As to 'damaging' Top Rank or 'besmirtching the Arum Legacy' ummm... well. Once again you got a 'like'. Are you prone to delusions of grandeur?
Funnily enough I did just polish off a coupla glasses of Malbec but spiralling off from receiving a twitter like to 'I owned Bruce Trampler' would take something considerably more psychoactive for me. Do you like the odd bump perhaps, or you into some of the stronger strains?
Hope you have a good'un whatever it is you're on, man. You're an OK dude.

I think it's difficult to say Pacquaio cherry picked Barrera the first time.

Barrera was the favourite and in the Top 10 P4P at the time.
I find the concept of the betting underdog also being the "cherrypicker" as a difficult concept to grasp. Especially when said fighter was a P4P ranked fighter, and at the time Pacquaio wasn't.Comment

Ah... so that's what this was about. But. Umm. You know it was also Trampler who built Floyd into a star right? You imagine his philosophy was different for that?
Irony is if you read interviews with Trampler he's full of praise for both fighters... how hungry Floyd was, even pushing him to take tougher fights than Bruce thought he was ready for and how Manny was willing to fight anyone.
You dudes - on both sides - really should let this one go. The world of boxing got to witness a pair of generational talents and rather than appreciate the brilliance of both men, some folk got so invested in one that you still can't let it go 7 years after the rivalry shoulda been put to bed.:Comment

But he did admit it, he liked what I said which is what he did. He enjoyed seeing that comment =---> for a reason. What, do I need a on film confession with hair & blood samples?Originally posted by Citizen KobaBut you didn't get him to admit anything did you? You got a 'like'. Crafted to a degree is clearly what I'm not talking about so why even say it? I'm talking majority fabrication. If you're going to have a bit of banter, at least pay attention and be reasonable.
I did own him because I got him to admit to something he would never normally admit to. That's like 100% getting owned. Maybe you're just too old or too sour, hard to say. You're right, it is difficult. But this is why an excellent matchmaker is important. Fighters that go through hardcore back-and-forth action in trilogies always leave something in the ring. Barrera took a bit of punishment in the Jones fights which is why they lined up several red dots for him right after and you got the Morales fights. Match-makers watch extremely closely and I don't think it's that hard to see the value in a guy who can make a country stand still.
