I may be a hater now, but I was a hopeful fan of Joshua when he was an amateur. I was extremely excited for his run, but man what a let down. The main problem for AJ was his loyalty and coming up in Britian. Britian has always been second fiddle because they've never had great trainers. The US has been chock full of excellent trainers since forever. The nice guy thing doesn't help him either, turning *evil* could help his mindset. His masters have him sold on the good guy image for the sake of sponsors. Forget all that, lose the sponsors, listen to some Mob Deep & Gangstarr, beat someone up on the street and make sure TMZ get's a copy.Comment

As someone already mentioned. Joshua has good fundamentals. At this point what he needs is good instincts that allow him to go off script and improvise things on the fly.
It's crazy but when you think about it he has the opposite problem of Wilder. A fighter who relies mainly on instinct but needs the fundamentals to get him to win rounds and get out of danger.Comment

I was very surprised with the work Roy did with Perella but I assume it’s easier to make a domestic guy look better than someone who’s been world championComment

Plus he has 3 losses now, 3 in his last 5 fights
boxing history tells us that when fighters start losing more regularly, they become easier and easier to beat. Then add into the mix he’s made more money than he could imagine. How much does a fighter really want it at that point when it’s time to bite down and go for broke? Everyone can say they’re still hungry and want it as much as ever, but I think for 99% of fighters, those losses and that wealth do take something out of you,Comment

Joshuas main asset is physical ability. Hes not particularly smart, not particularly technical, not particularly strategic. Hes just okay all around, but quite a physical specimen, so he has made it through a lot of situations.Jumping from trainer to trainer, I personally don't think this is good.
Skill for skill, Joshua's last performance vs Usyk 'Was one of his best performances in his entire career'.
His boxing from mid to long range was good, and he did produced some good body punching.
I am not sure what Roy Jones Junior is going to do with Joshua?
Intricacies or being all technical is something which Joshua needs to get away from. Joshua's fundamentals are actually quite solid.
Somebody needs to teach him how to develop his inside game, use rough house tactics, and improve his Jab 'Needs to be more forceful'.
If Joshua would of been able to fight in those area's vs Usyk 'The entire dynamic of the fight is different'.
Robert Garcia was a good trainer for Joshua. Garcia, Don Charles, Adam Booth, Teddy Atlas. I rate all these trainers for Joshua, because stylistically? They know the type of fight which Joshua needed to fight to beat Usyk etc.
Im guessing the idea is roy will teach him to use his physical talent.Comment
