Just how good is Bivol really?

One thing I want to quickly say before I get into this is I think people still don't really know or understand how dominant he has been for how long I mean you can literally go back yrs and yrs into his amateur career and see the same dominance we are seeing against these top LHWs in the pros and that is at a very high level. A lot of his losses and the more recent back in the amateurs were actually via walkover.

I've always massively rated Bivol and sworn blind hes the best of the bunch and he was the best of the bunch Beterbiev, Gzovdyk etc

I've sort of half studied him because its not obvious in your face, insane Rigo esque reflexes. Its quite the precision counterpunching of a Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Everything he does, his movements are all subtle. He's not going to make you miss by a metre and look out the ring showboating, he makes you fall short or miss by a hair then comes back in combination. His eyes, his focus, his understanding of distance and positioning is second to none.

He does everything near damn perfect but I always wonder with him is there another gear, are there more wrinkles to his game?
A lot of the time its best kept simple in boxing, being a minimalist. But I just wonder how good is he on the inside? Does he have a clinch game? Does he have a body attack?
Does he have an uppercut? Is it too late to add them at this stage?
Sometimes I just feel he is a touch one dimensional, a little one paced.

As a fan I'd like to see someone push him, take him out of that comfort zone.

He is excellent, he maybe so good that he completely dominates the division but he is so dominant and just seems to cruise its like are we or will we really ever get to find out just how great he is? I mean if he beats Beterbiev the same way he has beaten everyone else then what?

he is a pure boxer in the mold of Ali and Usyk.

he did go to the body several times in the Zurdo fight. but why go there if you can touch the face with regularity due to speed.

Uppercuts+body shots are high risk. you usually take a counter.

He had strange amateur career. Won a lot as a Junior but never really won or medalled in anything notable as a senior. He certainly wasn’t dominant as an amateur like Usyk or Lomachenko were. It was kinda similar to Kovalev’s amateur career in the sense that he went under the radar.

The only time I remember Bivol as an amateur was when he beat Callum Smith in Debercen in 2012. Think it was called the Bocksai Cup or something like that. Bivol won the Middleweight gold and Anthony Joshua won Super Heavyweight gold. I was following the amateur scene quite closely at the time because of the London Olympics.

        Amateurs have only 3 rounds.

Pros have 12 rounds. one of Bivol's best attributes is his stamina and work rate. these 2 great attributes cannot be demonstrated in 3 rounds.

He has a tenacity we don’t often see which he showed vs Pascal and Smith when they managed to land something good, Bivol battered both and pushed them to the ropes if I remember correctly.

Best qualities is his legs. Gives him a great edge at that division. Other than that he has nothing special, basic one two one two punches he throws are weak. He had a dead middleweight fighter in front of him from the 9th round on and couldn't get him out of there. Beverde is the real champ in that weight class

He will beat Beterbiev just like he beat all other guys. I like Artur, but he is too old.

Honestly I think he is overrated to the heavens based on a very poor version Canelo and Zurdo, he has miles to go to speak of with ATGs, miles.

Yes, he has to beat Tyson Fury to be ATG.

Man, stop with that crap already, and excuses for Canelo, if Canelo is ATG; Bivol is even more ATG.

And I am pretty sure you picked Canelo to beat Bivol before the fight. Now, when Bivol has won, it was a poor version of poor ginger lol.

You don't have to be ridicules, the guy has 2 good wins 2 , and is in a very weak division, come see me when he has 20 wins against elite guys.
