This is what I don't understand about GBP, and Vergil Ortiz Jr., why petition for Stanionis, then Thurman, but NOT call the WBO for Crawford? By seeking Stanionis or Thurman, GBP has to deal with PBC. All Oscar does is complain about dealing with Al Haymon! By going after Crawford, GBP would be dealing with a totally free agent! Why not go that route???

Because Oscar has a built in excuse if fight with Stanionis/Thurman doesn’t get made….. he would have no excuse with the free agent Crawford and forcing any of those fights to go to purse bid would prob end up with gb/dazn losing out on promotion rights

I doubt it, Thurman uses movement, while Ortiz just marches forward. Virgil blocks punches with his face, and Thurman has enough power to get him out of there with that horrible defense. McKinson was tapping Ortiz up the whole fight and had him visibly frustrated in his corner, but he possesses zero power which is why Ortiz eventually walked through to get the KO. Keith is a veteran with major pop in his punches, great IQ, punch selections, and footwork. It would get ugly for Virgil.

These fights piss me off because there is no chance they happen. Golden boy and pbc will not work with each other.

The will if its ordered as an elimination fight to get a championship fight afterwards.

Its not GBP they've shown they're willing to work with anyone. It's pbc who has zero interest of making fights with other promotions.

Golden Boy is the same as all the others, they won't let their fighters do anything unless its on DAZN, which is the hold up in negotiations for Ryan and Tank.

Is it fair to say that Vergil Ortiz Jr's body work will be more effective than Barrios who just moved up, had decent power at best and came from a loss to tank who was his biggest fight to date? A faded Joselito and Pacquiao who was 40 years old almost took him out by the same method.
