Vergil Ortiz Jr. is covering all bases to ensure that his next fight is a title eliminator or better. A request by Golden Boy Promotions vice president and executive matchmaker Roberto Diaz on behalf of Ortiz called for the WBC to order a final elimination bout between the unbeaten welterweight contender and former unified titlist Keith Thurman. Remember they also petition the WBA for Stanley fight, and made ZERO effect x2 to put in the paperwork for that WBO No 1 mandatory. Case closed. Ennis and his dad all talk but won't petition for the WBO since Ortiz passed again

Is it fair to say that Vergil Ortiz Jr's body work will be more effective than Barrios who just moved up, had decent power at best and came from a loss to tank who was his biggest fight to date? A faded Joselito and Pacquiao who was 40 years old almost took him out by the same method.

Its not GBP they've shown they're willing to work with anyone. It's pbc who has zero interest of making fights with other promotions.
