Comments Thread For: Bivol Shrugs at Canelo Rematch: 'Money is Good ... But Legacy Is Better'

Dmitry Bivol doesn't appear any closer to thinking that a rematch with Canelo Alvarez is the most palatable option in his career. The WBA light heavyweight from Russia scored a mild upset earlier this year when he handed Alvarez, the 168-pound

I wonder how many fights Bivol has left at DAZN. Would love to see him fight Beterbiev in 2023 but hard to see it happening whilst both are tied to opposing networks.

Bivol going to DAZN always felt a strange move. Especially considering all the other champions at the time (Gvodzyk, Beterbiev and Kovalev) were all working with TR/ESPN. Now he’s had the Canelo payday there’s not much else for him to stick around for other than a rematch.

Don't gain much from beating an undersized mediocre fighter

If only more fighters had this mindset rather than wasting their careers.

Couldn't agree more. Bivol schooled Canelo. It was a complete mismatch. There is nothing Canelo brings to the table that it anyway causes Bivol any problems.

Good for him, I like what I hear. If Alvarez wants a rematch win a few fights against impressive competition to make it an intersting rematch

Bivol ducking Canelo rematch I see

He knows he caught Canelo at the lowest point of his career

(well, second lowest, no.1 goes to Floyd weight draining the ginger into a zombie-like state and then beating on him)

He doesn't fancy his chances against a non-injured, properly prepared, focused in boxing instead of golf, non vegan Canelo in the rematch

or.... maybe he's just posturing to get more money from the proud SMW king, knowing ginger's hell bent on erasing that stain

or...maybe he's serious and really cares about LEGACY first and foremost! (he'd be one of the very few to do that, along with Canelo and Loma)

Let's see what Bivol does after beating the crap outta Ramirez, if he doesn't go straight for the unification with Beterbiev, then he's full of ****

literally no point in rematch, hed beat him even easier a second time round. not as if canelo looked good in his last fight, most people were expecting him to stop GGG, not win by 115-113 lol
