By Keith Idec - Terence Crawford revealed Tuesday night that representatives from two unnamed hedge funds offered to pay him and Errol Spence Jr. guaranteed purses of $25 million apiece during prolonged negotiations with Premier Boxing Champions founder Al Haymon.
With the strange ceiling talk, does Al think Spence is going to somehow make $50 million on this fight? I don't think this fight is big enough for that kind of payout for either fighter. They've been averaging around $5-6 million with $10 million as Spences highest against Mikey (that's $8 million + ppvb's exceeding).

Spence getting $25 million with points on ppvb's is an excellent deal for what he's worth.

That's what I'm thinking. I realize each of them wants to cash out with a big payday to risk their "0", but it's not happening. Neither of them are PPV stars, and the days of PPV stars are few and far between. They think they are worth a big 9-digit payday, and someone needs to sit them down and explain how this works. It reminds of women's boxing and Shields complaining about the difference in compensation between male and female boxers. No one cares about women's boxing, so where is the revenue going to come from if they can't sell PPV or even pull in decent ratings?

He hasn’t bet on himself. He’s fighting Avanesyan on an app instead of Spence in a mega fight. That’s not betting on yourself.

I’m a massive Crawford fan but he made the wrong choice here IMO. He doesn’t have the time to waste either which makes all the more frustrating.
Of course 35%ppv split. He agreed to get bent over and was going to bet on himself by agreeing to the zero gaurantee and smaller percentage but Al DIDNT WANT HIM TO HAVE ACCESS TO HIS BOOKS/ PAYOUT.....why are you trying to gloss over that huge discrepancy?? No person in thier right mind will ever, or should ever, agree to something that pertinent to one's pay if that's how your offer is structured.

We have that one poster "One Punch" on here,an ex promoter who's copromoted with the biggest promotional outfits in the game saying that's something no other promoter has, would've or should've agreed to including PBC themselves. Bud is representing himself and is doing exactly what he should be doing.

I am in agreement. To be fair, they did it to themselves. All those easy meals add up at the end of the day. If they would have properly challenged themselves and dared to be great, the circumstances here would be a lot different.

Answer is not just that they all fought Errol Spence over the last 5 years but that they were all given a guarantee on their split of a deal with Errol Spence.

Terrence Crawford was not. You can pretend all you want that Al Haymon the savior and worship him like ******ed sheep but it's very very clear that he sabotaged any chance of this fight being made just like he has done with other Boxers and other fights.
Respectfully, they were PBC boxers that worked for Haymon. Crawford doesnt.

Where are you getting the 35% figure from?

I doubt any ex-promoters post on forums tbh mate.

                  You got a link?

I’ve been searching for the split for a while and can’t find it anywhere. I don’t think it’s been disclosed tbh.

Did a quick search but couldn't find the article, almost certain that's what was put out. Let's see if another poster can find/link it here.
