These fights aren't as complicated to make as you might think. A fight of this magnitude requires 1 of 2 things for the opponent (Crawford)

1. Guaranteed money
or
2. A percentage of the event.

If there is any accuracy in Bud's comments, PBC was not willing to offer him any guaranteed money. So then he must become a partner in the event. That could be 30%, 35%, 40%, whatever. The actual number doesnt matter for the sake of this conversation. But when you are a participation partner (or co-promoter) in an event, then you are supposed to have access to the event financials to make sure you aren't getting clowned by the lead promoter. Does anyone really believe Top Rank didnt get to see the books for Floyd-Pac? Or that Haymon didnt get to see the books for Wilder-Fury 2 and 3? Or for 10,000 other co-promotions? Nobody is going to trust the other side to be fully transparent, unless its written in the contract. King used to exploit that stuff all the time, "inventing" hundreds of thousands of dollars in promotional expenses in order to shaft the other side.

Asking for transparency is not a stretch, and has nothing to do with any A-side B-side nonsense.

First time I've heard such thing. Even Maidana and all the opponents Floyd fought were all given guarantee money, as far as I know. Makes you think that is how low they are willing to treat a guy arguably the second best in the division. Doesn't make sense even if you're not a TC fan.
