8-4, 7-5 kind of fight. It was fairly close. Definitely not a domination by any means. Lewis-Tua is a domination.

He was a Heavyweight by his second year as a pro so not sure about worming his way.

I don't know, I saw Byrd get hit a lot in his fights. Wlad pummeled him, subsequently he got hit a lot against Mcline, Oquendo, Golota and others.

He left himself wide open a lot. That's how he got dropped so heavily by Ibeabuchi, leaving himself wide open. Although could argue he could have seen out the round, but it looked like the end was near.

Either way it's a strange inclusion, Chris Byrd amongst the best defensive fighters of all time. Something I've certainly never seen before.

      8-4 is not fairly close.

Right, but 7-5 is. It was that kind of fight, 8-4, 7-5. That's not a domination by any stretch.

        Lewis-Tua the prior year, that's a domination.

But it wasn't a 7-5. 8-4 easy, maybe even 10-2. Tua was whiffing all night.

You could argue it was 7-5. Atleast one of the judges had it 7-5 if I remember correctly.

It's neither here nor there. It wasn't a dominating fight and he got tagged his fair share and that happened quite a few times throughout his career.

I disagree, I thought Tua was whiffing all night and Byrd dominated him. Byrd wasn't liked during his time and seeing some hater judge score it 7-5 makes a lot of sense.

Have you even seen the fight?

Yeah, I've seen the fight. Had Byrd winning. But of course, not a domination. Like I said if you want to see a domination then watch Lewis-Tua a year prior. That is a flat-out domination of David Tua.

Byrd wasn't disliked, no one really cared about him, they were indifferent.

Fought well whilst losing vs Vitali and got the TKO win and was subsequently pummeled by his brother, that being another example of a utter domination, Wlad vs Byrd.

He wasn't some pantomime Villian going into that Tua fight. No one really cared either way about him. He won the fight for sure; he just wasn't dominant. There are 5 rounds there you can argue he won.

Byrd was definitely disliked. Too defensive and can't punch.

I'm actually extremely shocked to see your responses. It's like you grew up on Earth 2 where everything happens the opposite way.

I thought he dominated. I'll go back and rewatch it next time I put a fight on.

                    Fair enough brother. Different opinions.

I did like Chris Byrd as a fighter.
