Usyk's record against fighters weighing more than 200 pounds (if you count the World Series of Boxing five-rounders) is 14-0 with 7 KOs.

How many fights with Hall of Famers did Holyfield have? Like 10 or 11? (Including Lewis, Tyson, Holmes, Foreman, Bowe, etc.). That's not counting guys ON the HOF ballot now.

How many (future) Hall of Famers has Usyk faced so far?

    Usyk is WILDLY overrated.

Don't agree on a lot of these, but very insightful reasoning... didn't you post on f ightb eat?

Disagree about Young... Pet peeve of mine lol. I don't care if you did it in a year! The guy arguably beat Norton and Ali and everyone else with the exception of Frazier! But for the judges... To me that is greatness. Shavers was a beast... But like some fighters he was inconsistent and was more about landing than winning. Today, with 12 rounds he would win even less lol. Still a magnificent hitter!

I find your argument about Usyk very compelling... I am going to think about it... I had noticed that Usyk, when you REALLY watch him work, like against Hunter (for example) is a closet "physical" fighter. He likes to assert himself and use his weight, etc. Lol. I also noticed that when he fought Chisora, he failed to do this, among other things (like losing his angles and head movement, etc). This makes sense when you consider your point of view... And yes! the average size for a heavyweight has not changed! usyk is not a big boned man, but he has the weight to fight at heavy, like Wilder.

Thank you for that thought provoking post!

Its nice to see that in this section people are willing to sweep the road of sacred cows... Usyk is unquestionable a talented fighter, but I think Dubblechin makes a great point and YES... The win against Joshua is like what has happened with all these heavyweights, they do not fight each other enough to tell us anything. Chisora is like the Rosetta Stone for the division! That is a reason I like him so much.

Bigger does not mean better Queen B. I know you are not saying that Usyk has a resume on a par with Vander right?

Chavez Sr - Most padded record ever
Mike Tyson - Bum bully. Holyfield and Douglas showed him for what he was. C-Class
Oscar De la Hoya - Lost every big fight
Butterbean - Although he was robbed vs Larry Holmes, his record is too padded to take seriously
Tony Bellew. Beat a finished David Haye twice and was never seen again. Anthony was true to his word.

Tyson Fury ( some idi.ots think he is ATG because he beat Klitschko, Wilder and Whyte)

Joshua ( he is Bruno 2.0)

Wilder ( never beat anybody good)

GGG ( a long middleweight career, but he fought bums mostly)

Canelo ( he was actually seen as the favorite for Bivol fight, lol)

Mayweather ( a nice career, but he d.ucked nearly all prime fighters)

                My list today:

                1. Chavez... Was totally outclassed by Whitaker... Not beaten... Outclassed.
                2. Vlad & Vitalie Klitsko... Both guys fought in a weak era against guys who were/ and remain very basic in the "skills" department. As opposed to a guy like Johnson who fought against an average level of competition, these guys truly fought weak opposition.
                3. Katie Taylor... the judges gave her three fights at least, that she truly lost: Amanda and that brawler who beat her twice. She is a typical amatuer level, slappy fighter who is the companies' favorite, so gets the nod. She was wrecked 3 times already... And if rounds had been 3 minutes Amanda Nunes would have put a stop to the kattie Hype train.
                4. Adrien Broner... I actually believe, as our own poster Larry opined, that Broner had elite talent, and the physical potential to be even an |ATG. But the guy wasn't going to make the commitment... and much like Taylor, as the company fighter, he kept getting his hand raised when he lost, carrying up into fights he should never have been into.
                5. Joe Calzaghe... Fought at, and slightly above European level of competition. Fought the good guys past expiration, lost to Hopkin's

honorable mention: Joshua, as said: "Frank Bruno 2.0"
Jermaine Taylor: Lost twice, clearly to B Hops.

People are naming fighters like Curry who fought circa 35 years ago and has not been overrated for decades. I am going after the people who are STILL overrated.

Mayweather--Even the best is overrated if anyone thinks he can beat King Kong. Fought no excellent fighter in his prime, let alone a great one.

Vlad Klitschko--Had size before super size became the standard among heavyweights. Poor boxer who held his arms straight out when a fighter approached him. Beat no great fighters. Did not even fight them.

Tyson Fury--I was fairly big on this guy until he decided to fight Chisora a third time. All he has beaten is Wilder. No one with his flab would beat the real ATGs anyway. He is the flabbiest heavyweight champ I know of. Still, he is a good fighter. But halfwits are stating he is the best of all time. That is called overrated. Let a man fight someone first.

I was thinking of Mayweather lol. I guess I just think he is not terribly overrated as compared to others... Ya know Lefty, I feel the same way about Fury taking this fight against Del Boy. I feel good for Del Boy but its a shyte fight.
