Spence bout against Porter was razor close, but Porter is a tough out for anyone.

Porter is just short of being an elite boxer. He lost to almost every elite guy he boxed, except Garcia, but he’s always competitive, even when he loses.

But think about this. Spence did drop Porter with the perfect hook. Any less of a boxer wouldn’t have been able to take that, but it’s Porter. He wasn’t even really hurt. He was barely knocked down. Really a testament to his toughness. Porter had a great chin. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that was the first time Porter was knocked down.

Theres no shame in “barely” beating Porter. Thurman barely beat Porter. Up until the later rounds, Brook struggled against Porter. Up until Crawford took over in the late rounds, Porter made it competitive.

Spence barely beating Porter doesn’t hurt how Spence is viewed in the world of boxing, because Porter is already established and respected in boxing as a guy who always brings it.

Remember when you claimed that Brook was gonna beat Spence? I proposed a ban bet and you didn’t have the testicular fortitude to accept. Still salty I see.

I see you’re still playing the victim card about anything American. 1776 was a loooooong time ago, get the phuck over it already (who won that war anyway?).

What happened to your welterweight hero Benn. Remember your thread “Conor Benn is a problem for the welterweight division”?

This is not a insult to Porter. Top Fighter.

Porter did not beat Spence Junior. And even if it was a close fight, Errol Spence Junior faced the last solid version of Shawn Porter.

Interesting comparison... The devil is in the details... The division makes a difference here. Porter had an engine like LaMotta, and was good enough to break guys down. Chisora never had the gas, most heavyweights don't... This does make Porter more dangerous but I think your comparison has merit all the same.

Another way to look at this: Look at a fighter like Danny Garcia, his technical acumen, etc... Porter was able to apply pressure and fight well against guys with these skill sets. Chisora beat a lot of soft touches along with losing to some great fighters.

Chisora has really good endurance, when he is in condition. His style by default demands endurance 'Although he has learnt to coast, hang around and defend off the ropes' which helps him get through the rounds.

Porter is the American version of Derek Chisora, but slightly more sophisticated.

thing that is frustrating is that when he fights the top guys, you want to root for him as the underdog, he seems like a humble dude too, then as the fight is going on he is almost there, the win looks like is possible but he just didnt have that next level, he needs just a bit more of something, either accuracy, power ect and he could beat these guys but then at the end of the fight you get the end result a competitive fight with the favorite winning. no upsets or surprises.

If Porter was so focused and determined to win. If he was still truly operating at World level? He would of called for the rematch.

If Porter vs Crawford was a super close fight, immediately after the fight 'Team Porter would of been calling for a rematch'.

Nobody called for a rematch, because Porter was probably half way to retirement even before the fight.

I get it. Terrence Crawford is the American version of Derek Chisora. He has a lot of respect in the game, and a loyal fan base.

Shawn Porter for me, never really had the ability to beat a elite level fighter. He can push them and make the fight really difficult for them.

But skill for skill, he was just lacking that ability to win. This is no disrespect, the man was a World Class fighter. I just think people are getting carried away here 'He did not beat Errol Spence Junior'.

War referring to spence. That porter almost beat spence. And porter is nothing like chisora. Chisora has been stopped several times and never lost a competitive sd loss to an elite fighter.

Not to mention that chisora has been koed by journeeyman like whyte and has 12 losses to mediocore opposition. Only the elites can beat porter. Chisora loses to your average journeyman.
