"But before Andrade sets his sights on the upper echelon of his newly minted weight class, the Rhode Island native is eyeing a relatively soft touch first. Having been out of the ring since his November of 2021 second-round destruction of Jason Quigley, Andrade would like to ease his way back into the mix before squaring off against Plant next."

Fam, do you really think you have time for that? You're 34, and have wasted too much time already!

That is what Andrade should had been gunning for in the first place. Fighters of Plant's caliber. He expected to fight a bunch of second tier fighters to protect his "0" and get a free pass. Andrade has never had any momentum and has never been a big star.

Mannix says Andrade passed on signing with PBC a few months back. Went with Probellum or whatever.

Like Crawford's "going to be" frozen out? He's been frozen out for years.

Andrade would be a beautiful fight for Plant, and anyone else at 168. Unfortunately, there are currently around 20 different excuses floating around from most of the top fighters as to why they don't wanna fight Andrade. Or, they just don't mention his name at all when discussing potential opponents. Thats why boxing today sucks. No one wants to fight everybody. They wanna fight specific fighters. To me, if a fighter ain't saying they wanna fight everybody, i don't care what they have to say, because all they're doing is picking and choosing and thats corny, and i see that BS a mile away. Very few fighters today are saying they wanna fight everbody in their weight class. U can name them on one hand. Boots Ennis is definitely one of them

He beats Plant so Haymon won't let it happen. Then again, Haymon wouldn't allow financial trouble Charlo to make $7 million vs Andrade with a rematch clause. Nothing new here.
But he did let Ruiz go beat up Joshua in his U.S. debut, and he let Wilder go get beat up by Fury! Let's see if they let Joshua come fight Wilder on PBC? Let's see if Tank vs. Garcia happens too?

Parker and Janibek wanted to fight him but Andrade had excuses to avoid them. Even in this very interview where Andrade says he wants to fight Plant, what he's actually saying is he doesn't want to fight Plant, he wants to fight an easier opponent, then maybe Plant after.

So that's 3 of the top guys that Andrade has clearly refused to fight next, but everybody avoiding him?

If this fight happens on PBC I expect Plant v Andrade to happen in 2024. Both guys will probably fight one tune up in 2023 first. I mean their careers have been tune up fight after tune up fight.

He's been out and now moving up a weight class. The professional thing to do is take a tune-up, especially at 34.

I think Haymom is freezing out all of their fighters. Have any of them ever fought more than once in a 12-24 month period?
