Ennis is not with Haymon. He has a Showtime exclusive contract.

If he was with Haymon he would have gotten the big fights by now.

No, I simply tell them I decline the offer and move on. I don’t string them alone and make them seem like I’m going to accept the position then pull out at the very last minute. You earn a bad reputation that way and CEOs talk to each other. If he would’ve declined earlier it would have allowed Errol to find another opponent for Nov. He actually held the division up and now Spence has to face his mandatories to keep the fight alive. Once again Errol doing all the heavy lifting while TC gets to fight another easy fight. You enter negotiations in good faith and that’s how it’s always been in Boxing and in the real world. One of them major problems with boxing is that the fans eyes are on one entity and they’re not holding all promoters/networks/fighters to the same standards.

Who’s going to fight Boots? High risk, low reward. Until he makes himself a mandatory you won’t see a top fighter go near him—Bud, and Spence, included.

It’s the basic problem in this era and the main reason boxing needs a major overhaul. Fifty years ago, offers would have been flying off the table.

It will change only when nobody buys more lame PPVs.

Ennis had a no name resume because showtime are keeping him on ice as the next generation star why would they let him beat up thurman and Spence until they got their maximum out of them or they move to 154

Ennis is the next hope for them he won't be thrown in the deep end yet not until their other big fighters have more milage racked up

So why is he expecting an offer from Crawford when TC is not with Showtime? Not to mention the idea of TC sending an offer without network affiliation seems ******. How come Ennis is not questioning Showtime for keeping him on the shelves for long periods of time? Why is Ennis getting away with his nonsense?

He is the IBF mandatory and he petitioned to the IBF to enforce his mandatory shot against Spence, but WBA is first in the rotation of mando’s, so Stanionis getting his shot first is more likely.
