While Loma has a puncher's chance and the ability to win on scorecards, Haney and Stevenson have more speed and skills. Loma is very savvy, however, and knows how to take advantage of his opponent's lack of experience and mental lapses late in fights.
Loma has more skill than either. How else is the guy who could be fighting at 126 beating fighters at 135. Dazzling against Walters and Rigo so much so they are frazzled and quitting on the stand refusing to come back out? Loma has timing and speed. The first negates the second, Gary Russell anyone?

It’s a cultural thing. The trash talking and disrespect we see in not just boxing but in almost every sport in the US is just how the culture is here.
It is also a reflection of certain nuances - the gun culture, the almost collective rejection of universal health care and even the “small” street violence that emanates from the “what are you looking at” stare that almost always leads to violence including the good old road rage.

This is not a political statement, it’s just a cultural normalcy that does exist here. I’m making that distinction because the rebuttals that will follow will be entertaining.

Trash talking is a reflection of the rejection of universal health care? Holy moly man. What are you talking about? Gun culture? I have lots of them, but I'm all about showing respect where its due. Thats from down south where we all have guns and still say sir and ma'am.

But, but . . . "Universal healthcare" ??? Don't you want someone else to pay for your doctor's bills???

Nuances aka qualities, aspects, or distinctions that can explain why the US culture is the way it is.

The core theme brought up was how respectful foreign boxers are when compared to American boxers. Does that mean ALL American boxers or Americans in general are disrespectful? Of course not. But that mentality can be explained through other nuances.
As to your point about being from the South and speaking with respect, I don’t doubt that, however, it is also a known fact that down south is predominantly racist towards **********. And I certainly have met respectful people who are still racists. Again, certain nuances can explain aspects of US culture.

Loma is able to do pull it off but he has to get in the ring more.

I always enjoyed Rigo fighting - so elusive but he could punch hard when he needed to. Supreme talent - earnings fallen way short of potential

Good deductions - we have nearly the same problem in the UK - I think it comes from examples set by leadership too. Look at Clinton, Trump and ***** - cussing on camera or off camera - what does that say to adolescents? Parents cussing others and each other. It's a cess pool. We look back at discipline at home and school and think how much more developed we are - but look at the mess all around us?

On the other hand, countries whose citizens tend to be more respectful when speaking are often ruled by dictators and lack basic freedoms. It's a conundrum.

Loma makes Haney quit in the corner. Shakur is 50-50

I agree. Especially at his age I think he needs to stay active.
