That's why i like fighters like Loma, RJJ, Leonard, Robinson, Ali..
    Hell yeah. Same

This is the most astute observation I’ve read on this platform. Ever. it is true.

It’s a cultural thing. The trash talking and disrespect we see in not just boxing but in almost every sport in the US is just how the culture is here.
It is also a reflection of certain nuances - the gun culture, the almost collective rejection of universal health care and even the “small” street violence that emanates from the “what are you looking at” stare that almost always leads to violence including the good old road rage.

This is not a political statement, it’s just a cultural normalcy that does exist here. I’m making that distinction because the rebuttals that will follow will be entertaining.

I don’t think I understand the connection to universal health care or ownership of firearms. People in the United States prefer freedom, and they’ve been like that since our forefathers left European shores to settle here. The recent cultural rise in foul language is attributable to other factors, most notably the aggressive expurgation of Gospel influence from public life.

In addition, let’s not forget the very baneful influence of Muhammad Ali who made trash talk seem cool. But it never was admirable in any true sense. It just showed the power of a clever man with a big mouth to bring a whole culture into the gutter… and how crazy difficult it is to get back out of the gutter once everyone is in there. It’s a lot easier to pollute a clean river than it is to clean up a ****** one that everyone now thinks is a proper sewer.

So you don’t consider Lomachenko a smart boxer? Or is it you don’t consider Stevenson a smart boxer? Which one is it? Have you ever watched either of them box?

I would favor Stevenson based on size and youth, but I can’t completely count someone like Lomachenko out.

We look back at discipline at home and school and think how much more developed we are - but look at the mess all around us?

On the other hand, countries whose citizens tend to be more respectful when speaking are often ruled by dictators and lack basic freedoms. It's a conundrum.

Let me try a different approach. Think about the argument against universal healthcare or the argument in defense of ownership of firearms. Both arguments are angry, toxic and even violent towards the opposite side.
That attitude is what I refer to. The absolute belief that “my thinking is the only way and the correct way”.

Ali, while loud and brash was always clowning. His antics did not come from toxic hate or anger. He went on to have lifelong friendships with the same guys he fought. Do you think someone like Hopkins would pursue a friendship with Calzaghe. I highly doubt it.

British boxers and citizens tend to be respectful to Americans and even erroneously think highly of idiots like Broner.

Your last statement is an absolute gem. It’s a lot easier to pollute a clean River than it is to clean up a ****** one. It reminds me of one I read a while ago, it’s easier to correct/fix difficult children than it it is to repair broken men.

I actually do believe that the best form of leadership comes from a benevolent dictator - the problem is there needs to be a collapse to usher in a dictatorship and also people can't choose their dictatprs and also, even if they start off as benovolent they become corrupt and malignant dictators

UK has the Sky News propaganda machine owned by Rupert Murdock. They talked the British into exiting the EU just like Fox promoted jobs going to China, Fox called them by calling them "jobs Americans don't want"

You talking about when he uses the advancing shift? Watch a few Pacquiao fights. He does it all the time. As long as the weight transfer is happening, that doesn't affect power as much as you think. Weight transfer is the main reason Haney's power is lacking. He is much more commonly on that back foot, even with his weight down and "sitting down on the punch" as many places teach it. But because he's carrying his weight back so he can focus on getting out, since he's a defensive fighter, he loses a lot of the power transfer. Still did plenty of damage to Kambosos though. His style doesn't lend itself well to knockouts.
