Because Fury is the Heavyweight Champion and is fighting someone who’s unranked.

    Quite simple.

This just further shows how far Boxing has fallen as a sport.

It’s in the worst shape it’s ever been.

I don’t care as long as we get the unification next

as a stand-alone fight it’s not desirable but if it’s just a tune up, then it is what it is. It’s not particularly exciting because Fury has beat him twice. But the reality is the AJ fight wasn’t happening because AJ got cold feet, so the tune up fight wasn’t ever gonna be much better than Del. So it is what it is.

And anyway it wasn’t that long ago when Chisora gave Usyk a good fight and arguably beat Parker in the first fight. And he just beat Pulev, nobody was complaining about AJ fighting Pulev not long ago.

At least for a tune up opponent he will come to fight. Better than someone like Charr who will turn up for a payday. And at least he’s been very competitive with top fighters like Usyk recently. Plus, people use Boxrec as some kind of indicator when it suits, especially AJ fans when talking of his resume. Chisora in the top 10 there. So can you really complain if someone if having a tune up against someone in the top 10? He’s also top 10 in the WBC.

It’s not a great fight by any means, but all things considered, just see it as a keep busy fight that should be a bit of fun against someone that leaves it all in the ring.

it seems the Usyk fight is nailed on next. If we don’t get that Usyk fight next and this appears to be not just a tuneup, then it can be slated.

          4. Fury pretended he wanted to fight Usyk & Joshua next but then turned into a total d1ck about it when Joshua accepted his offer and blocked the fight from happening.
          Number 3 isn’t right

If he fights Usyk in March, that’s neatly a year out of the ring, the Whyte fight was 6 months ago

AJ accepted via Twitter, anyone can do that. His team and DAZN blocked it citing commercial contractual things not allowing it to happen etc etc

With all the losses and knockouts Chisora has suffered, I don’t understand why he’s still fighting big names. Nothing against the guy though — he seems like a funny and friendly human being, but I think he should retire.

No one is asking for this fight, but I understand it Tyson needs to stay busy and fight cannot sit around waiting on Usyk or AJ to step up .

Fury-Chisora III will be a good fight, Del will bring it and Kronk Fury won't back down.
He's not a useless bum. I would've been interested to see how Wilder would deal with Chisora.

But with Fury we have seen how he deals with Chisora.

It's not an intriguing fight to me. It probably isn't to you either but you're a fury fan so you gotta back your guy. But dont pretend only matchroom casuals are crapping on this fight

Something tells me that, if Wilder was champion, you wouldnt be making threads defending Wilder if he pulled out of negotiations for a fight with Joshua to make Wilder-Stiverne III instead.

                      It's a stay busy fight who gives a s***?

As long as Fury fights Usyk next year I'm happy.

We could've been seeing Fury vs Usyk or Fury vs AJ but they both didn't want it.
