    Usyk

Complete radio silence from Usyk right now.

After AJ fight, he wanted to fight Fury or else retire.

Then, he said he wanted to fight Wilder and would be there for the Helenius fight (he wasn’t).

What is going on in his head right now, and what do you think his future fights are, if any?

I fully expect we get Usyk-Fury in 2023.

The Usyk-Wilder talk is just a way of gaining some leverage in the Fury negotiations IMO.

Wilder vs Ruiz has long been planned by PBC too. I think that’s a lock for the the first half of 2023 also.

The Wilder talk was likely just a smoke screen. Wilder just came off two straight brutal beat downs and is in a rebuilding phase. No reason for Usyk to take that high risk low reward match with Wilder when he’s on top of the world right now. He deserves the fight with GOAT HW Tyson Fury. He’s earned it proving his doubters wrong not once but twice against AJ. Wilder’s got nothing at this point except his money shot. Let him use that to rebuild and work his way back up to challenge for a belt in the due course of time.

HW ‘bouts I want to see:

      FURY - USYK

      WILDER - JOE JOYCE

      AJ - DDD

I would think Russia is in his head now. Fury or any fighter are not on his mind but he will fight Fury.

I guess he will fight Fury next or just drop all the belts and go down to cruiserweight again.

Sorry to hammer this exact same point I’ve made on other threads, but what’s on his mind is getting his cycle right.

This is why neither he nor any other HW is available to fight as often as they should be, because alongside the getting the right fight location, the right contractual terms, the right deals between broadcasters, etc, is the extra logistical factor of circumventing PED testing.

That’s how I read all of the recent prevarication from he, AJ and Fury in terms of when they’re fighting (or not) and whom.

Usyk puts in his heart and soul into fighting and has long extreme camps. I think after the Joshua fight, he needs some rest and to be with his family before he could go into another camp like that. Usyk is not coming half-prepared for a fight.

I expect to see Usyk fight around Feb-Apr probably against Fury.

When you’re the King, you move how you want.

Usyk will fight whoever they put in front of him. He will just be quiet and let his people negotiate.

as far as i can see hes said he clearly wants the unification fight so i presume thats what his aim is early next year and he also said hes not fighting this year either, im just presuming that if fury is for some reason not available to make the unification fight early next yr then he will look at other fights, thats just common sense to me anyway

I hate this, but you're probably on to something.
