I'm 50/50 on it. Punch looked weak but sounded decent. Its certainly not outside the realms of possibility that a puncher like Wilder could KO a guy like Helenius in the first round, but then on the other hand its vs a former sparring partner, its the perfect result for Wilder to start rebuilding, he has a history of accusations of dives against him and people were already calling the possibility of a dive going in. So I dont know.Comment

This fight was a scam by Al Gaymon. Now the "KING" is back...to do more scams with lord Al Gaymon.I'm 50/50 on it. Punch looked weak but sounded decent. I'd say no, but there was no leverage in Wilders punch so it did look a bit odd.
Helenius walked onto it, and likely has a weak chin.Comment

I haven't heard this audio of the punch but I don't put any stock in audio anyway. 'hits' and slaps sound louder than proper thudding shots. Sound is overrated.I'm 50/50 on it. I stand by that it wasn't a great punch. Certainly not one that should knock a heavyweight out.
If it wasn't a dive, then I'm very concerned for Helenius. If he can't take that shot, then he shouldn't be anywhere near this sport.Comment

This isn't the first time Deontay has landed a short devastating power punch.
Look at the 10th round of Ortiz vs. Wilder 1, and you'll see Deontay lands a very similar short punch that stuns Ortiz badly and leaves him defenseless for the barrage of punches that finish him off.
Doesn't matter if the right hand fully extends or if you catch the beginning of it. Either way it does serious damage and puts 99% of heavyweights to sleep.Comment
