For me the big difference was that when Marshall was on the front foot and landing, Shields soaked it up and kept moving. However whenever Shields unloaded one of her flurries Marshall looked distressed.

Also noticed that quite a few times Shields let herself get trapped on the ropes, take a couple of hits before countering back and throwing Marshall out of sync. Shields definitely came in with a plan and executed it. Marshall was banking on her power to break Shields down.

No complaints about the decision. When Shields was on top it really showed. Even though she won a couple/few rounds Marshall never looked to have any kind of control of the fight.

The fact that Shields stood there and traded with Marshall was absolutely courageous. That was Marshall's best shot and Shields still topped her. Shields is gutsy as hell!

Look at Shields face. Marshall landed the more punishing shots. It's obvious. Don't look at Compubox. It's a joke.

You think that maybe has something to do with the frame difference of the two women ??

Marshall is the naturally bigger person and is by far the heavier handed

Shields was landing the more accurate punches and better defensively but the few punches Marshall got in each round were more damaging

Problem is Shields has a good chin and had much better accuracy and therefore won rounds

Had it 96-94 Shields. Great fight. Marshall losing most of the early rounds cost her as she was the better fighter second half of the fight on the whole. Need a rematch when Shields returns to boxing as there is nobody else for her to fight. Nash out

Watched it on my phone while out and about on holiday. Good win by shields, she looked very brave and fought at close range which was an excellent strategy.
It would appear that those who despise shields will just have to put their hopes on someone else
