I agree. American fighters need to start taking fights outside of the US. And stop making such move a huge deal like Haney and his fans do.

that's because 80% of the women in each division are ranked in the top 30.
for example, at middleweight there is only 1 woman in the entire division that's not ranked in the top 20.

how has marshall suddenly come into the conversation with people like shields taylor serrano etc, marshall is a total nobody compared to the likes of them, she is only being hyped for this fight, i have to say they have done a great job with her selling this fight it seems

I've acknowledged that the talent isn't as deep as the men's side of things.
That said, there's little excuse for situations like Spence/Crawford, Joshua/Wilder, etc, etc, etc....

The likes of Baumgardner, Marshall and Taylor have enough of a following to fight safe picks but they're not doing that.

i'm glad they aren't going for safe picks, but if they were getting million dollar guarantees every time they fought and the chance of headlining on PPV you may not see the top fighters as willing to fight the other big names. it's obviously the best way to build women's boxing since it's not likely to see a string of vicious mike tyson-esque KOs even with matches. they're fighting for respect and to put their side of the sport on the map, so i appreciate that. i just don't think it would be that way if some of these women were getting some of the guarantees the men get for showcase and tune-up fights. they just aren't really in a position to decline big opportunities

agreed, the huge paydays don't benefit the sport but i can't fault the fighters for trying to get the big money in the easiest way when given the opportunity. i actually do watch a fair amount of women's boxing...this card is the most interesting one for me today as both fights are pick 'em type fights with high stakes. i would not mind a seniesa estrada vs gabriela fundora fight somewhere down the road if fundora is going to stick around at flyweight
