Hatton should take it, if his punch resistance isn't completely gone he's got a great chance of winning. Diaz gave JMM big problems and Hatton is a lot better pressure fighter than Diaz.

I said I would love to see Hatton win this fight, not that he deserves to win. No fighter deserves to win anything. The best man on the night will be victorious.

LOL Okay, but the bold is stating the obvious.

It's just the idea of rooting for Hatton over Marquez in a fight that would appear (ostensibly) to be both mens' career swansong if it was made. It isn't even about contrasting styles, just that one is leagues worthier than the other in almost every way imaginable. Hatton has a fantastic heart, that's about the only thing he has on a par with JMM.

How anyone who isn't a complete meathead could pull for a Hatton win in this matchup is beyond me. Wait, no it isn't. I understand national bias.

It's all good, though. I just had to chuckle.

hatton would be too much for the aging marquez. marquez has no business going into welterweight as evidenced by his fight with pbf. his agressiveness was visible only in the first five rounds. by the sixth to twelve, his punches can no longer hurt a natural welterweight.

it would be better for him to fight katsidis or anybody in the lightweight division.

hatton should jump at the opportunity, he is lucky that a top 5 p4p fighter wants to fight him after his loss to pac.

but i cant see it happening, hatton has said he hasnt got the desire to fight.

Marquez and him are about the same height, but Ricky is very muscular and strong at 140 while perhaps Marquez is abit sluggish by his standards at 135 and under.

I have Ricky Hatton on this fight due to the fact that he would love to bully Marquez. Marquez doesn't have the speed and power of Pac which makes a hell of a difference.

Also Ricky loves to brawl and would be strong enoguh to pin Marquez down. He was able to do it with Floyd who made Marquez look tiny IMO.

              I got a Ricky Hatton close UD/SD

                Marquez has a chance.

Marquez had trouble with casa and diaz. Both decently skilled. Diaz pops off shots like a machine gun at times too, he's always on the attack. Hatton is also a very offensive fighter, but in a different mauling/hugging style. I think he would eat lots of leather from JMM coming in and possibly get stopped from cuts.

Marquez's upper would find its target as well. Ricky is not mobile and agile like Floyd. He's quick on his feet but has a "face to the fist" blocking technique that Marquez will surely make the most of.

I think Juan Manuel Marquez would win this fight.Ricky Hatton's style of aggressiveness plays right into the hand's of JMM's Counter punching. It just depends if the weight has done any harm to Marquez, but if it hasn't I see him picking up the decision.

He would like to drop down to 140-pounds and land a fight with Hatton. [details]
If he can get the fight and Hatton doesn't retire... fair play to him its a good fight for him, a good name to have on his resume and JMM deserves to have another good payday really.

National bias? Says the guy who claims that Prince Naseem is a legend. For a 28 year old, you are pretty immature. I like Hatton more than I like Marquez, get over it meathead.

Oh yeah, and take that chip off your shoulder.
