He's not a gimmick. He's a legit top 10 contender at the weight. He can give Charlo a good fight.

Positive that he is a top contender, just because he went the distance with Ocampo doesn't mean he will fair badly against ranked fighters. Thats just recency bias making you nitpick everything he didn't do right in the fight.

He took the shots because he knew he could withstand them in exchange for landing more affective punches. Similar to the Figueroa's brothers, they won't last long in their professional careers. Unless Sebastian Fundora makes changes.

Contender for KO of the year in 2023 (receiving the KO).

He’s a contender as in top 10 but he has absolutely nothing for Charlo and I really like the kid. Fights inside even with his freakish advantages, blocks punches with his face, and doesn’t have much pop.

Omar Figueroa, while he did block punches with his face, expedited his time in the sport with the alcoholism.

True but watching his fights he was already going on the decline in his late twenties.

His fighting style is not sustainable. He tried to move and jab more last night but ultimately he’s going to be who he is. Only thing stopping him for crumbling is that he has a good chin and most opponents lose significant power punching upwards.
