Canelo's only SMW legacy is on par with Ward let alone his LMW, MW and LHW journey. Even at WW he beat future IBF champion Miguel Vazquez twice when he was teenager.

Ward has to wash his face, go to next to Canelo and apologize to him. There are levels in this ***********ing sport.
Neither are in the top 600. Stop smoking the herbs, man.

Ward would have beaten Canelo, no question in my mind.

Ward was next level, best of his generation.

I’ve seen a video of him parrying, catching, and throwing punches with the same hand within seconds.

Ward was both an inside and outside fighter. He was known for being able to wrestle with the strongest on the inside while still being able to throw multiple power shots, which is why at times he would get dirty. Ward had no reason to run from Kessler or Froch, he beat them decisively in championship fights, and both said that he won fair and square with no mentions of hometown bias. Your Euro-boxer bias is showing quite clearly though. Also, if Ward said that he was retiring because his body couldn't perform at the level he needed anymore, who are you to question that? Boxers on his level put their lives on the line everytime they step in the ring because of the top tier opponents they face. What makes you so entitled to feel that you have an analysis on why he retired that should be taken as truth, especially when he already stated, publicly, his reason? I'm sure that he knows his body much better than you. I swear, people get on this forum and sling opinions around like facts to discredit or say a boxer is ducking, as if they know them personally. If you want to big up your Euro-boxers, there's nothing wrong with that, but accusing Ward of retiring to duck them, especially when he already beat them and gained their respect, is self gratification at the expense of truth and facts.

Ward did something unseen since Jones and it could be argued he did Jones one better: He went into a tournament that would clean out the division, determine the top fighter, as an under dog. he not only won the tournament, but he did so easily. Like Jones he soundly beat his comp, but, he did so as an under dog. I know Jones did not enter a tournament, but both guys easily cleaned out their divisions.

You also cannot compare the version of Kovalev that Ward fought versus whom Canelo fought. With that said, Canelo has fought solid competition as well.
