No. I'd have no problem wit him fightin SSM and it bein for the Ring belt since he retired as champ. But he ain't earn the #2 WW or p4p ranking by beatin a LW at WW.

Politics=boxing, nothing makes sense that's why sooo much ppl is jumping to the MMA, there to be the man you have to beat the man. Here on boxing seel more tickets/ppv, fight nobody and you da man. Don't get me wrong I lov PBF as a boxer, he's a P.O.**** as a person, but a great boxer.

According to Ring Magazine, Mayweather is now ranked #2 and Cotto #3 P4P at Welterweight. I don't question that Mayweather completely dominated Marquez in spectacular fashion, but aren't the P4P divisional rankings also calculated using recent resume/achievements at the designated weight against legitimate & ranked welterweights? Please consider the following:
1.) Cotto has actually fought 4 of the top 10 ranked Welterweights and defeated 3 of them. The one loss coming against Antonio Margarito who was suspended for a year after his very next fight for illegal hand wraps.
2.) Mayweather has not fought ANY of the top 10 ranked Welterweights. None.
3.) This ranking was allegedly earned by outpointing a fighter who has never fought above the lightweight limit.
This isn't intended to upset Mayweather fans, just looking to see why people do or do not believe Mayweather should be ranked #2 at WW. I think an argument can be made for ranking him in the top 10 P4P overall, but this is different since it regards a specific weight class. The official list: http://www.ringtv.com/ratings/welterweight/
Please discuss, Poll to follow.

Mayweather shouldn't be ranked above Cotto.
A win over a small lightweight Marquez doesn't move him above Cotto imo.

He will prove he is the best in his next fight against Mosley because after this fight with Marquez, there is no way Arum will put Pacquaio or Cotto in the ring with Mayweather.
