Should Mayweather rank above Cotto at Welterweight? Poll.

Should Floyd Mayweather Jr. rank above Miguel Cotto at Welterweight? According to Ring Magazine, Mayweather is now ranked #2 and Cotto #3 P4P at Welterweight. I don't question that Mayweather completely dominated Marquez in spectacular fashion, but aren't the P4P divisional rankings also calculated using recent resume/achievements at the designated weight against legitimate & ranked members of that weight class? Please consider the following:

    1.)
Cotto has actually fought 4 of the top 10 ranked Welterweights and defeated 3 of them. The one loss coming against Antonio Margarito who was suspended for a year after his very next fight for illegal hand wraps.
2.) Mayweather has not fought ANY of the top 10 ranked Welterweights. None.
3.) This ranking was allegedly earned by outpointing a fighter who has never fought above the lightweight limit.

This isn't intended to upset Mayweather fans, just looking to see why people do or do not believe Mayweather should be ranked #2 at WW. I think an argument can be made for ranking him in the top 10 P4P overall, but this is different since it regards a specific weight class.

    Please discuss, Poll to follow.

      Of course not!

You should have to fight a welterweight to be ranked at welterweight.

What has mayweather done in the past 2 years at 147?

                  Beat Hatton and Marquez, right?

                  What has Cotto done?

Got destroyed by marg, beat Jennings and lost to clottey

Of course not is probably the reaction of most fans, but that didn't stop the most distinguished authority in boxing from making those changes. I think putting Mayweather at #2 overall makes more sense than this.
