Or if Eubank wants to fight a welterweight, he should make the welterweight limit.

It's not necessarily that simple though. Fighters will always try to to boil down to the smallest weight they can to gain an advantage or to not be at a weight disadvantage on fight night. If there were no catch weights it could be even worse because some fighters would try to drain themselves down an entire division.

This is a dumb fight to begin with. eubank jr is in his 30 and has yet to win any major belts, could not get the big fights, lost to saunders/groves when he remotely stepped up. His career is a waste. Conor benn on the other hand is a domestic level fighter who called out adrien broner of all people instead of calling out other guys like vergil ortiz or even a boots ennis. They are both jokes and are cashing in on their daddies names.

I bet they was banking on the dad's being abit more Invovled in this fight then they have been. But he might turn up fight night eubank sr even tho he's saying all this but his son signed the contract he's 33 at the end of the day

True, Benn is a big boy, but parents will understand when I say we NEVER stop trying to protect our kids from harm.

Yeah an his younger son Sebastian passed away from a heart attack at 30 about over a year ago so that's probaly still something he's still coming to grips with so it's probaly heightend his concern for jr abit more. But jr is 33 years old it's his choice to take this fight an to make all the obligations he's signed he would in the contract. So I get the concern but is what it is

For once I agree with Chris , having been through what he and Nigel I’m surprised the board sanctioned it but then again money appears to be more important to them , Hearn and the tv companies . Shows you how bad the game is when you have to rely on famous names instead of real ability in sport .
