Canelo has fought professionally as low as 140 lbs. He was for sure moving up in weight and Golovkin was without a doubt the bigger man.
When Golovkin was crying about being avoided he said he would fight anyone from 154 to 168. But then Andre Ward raised his hand and suddenly all that tough guy talk went out the window.
One of Canelo's best runs was when he fought 4 fights in a calendar year and unified all the belts at 168 lbs. He did VADA testing for every single one of those training camps.
His stamina has become more of an issue as he has focused more heavily on weightlifting. That muscle has an expensive oxygen cost. I wish he would ditch the weights and go more old school.

Canelo moving up in weight was a myth. He always was able to rehydrate roughly 20lbs - it was one of his strengths. In reality he was making 160lbs by late 2014 and should've been in a ring with Golovkin in 2015 but longed him off until September 2017. Andre Ward fought as a light heavyweight in the amateurs and was an elite level fighter. If GGG did move up to face him at 168lbs he clearly would've been at a disadvantage.
Keep in mind that Canelo moved up in weight to face the bigger Golovkin. That's to his credit. Especially since Golovkin wouldn't move up to face Andre Ward, in what would have been a huge fight for his legacy.
The PEDs Canelo tested positive for were trace amounts consistent with eating contaminated beef. And he enrolled in VADA testing prior to the 2nd Golovkin fight.
Fan boys like to muddy the waters but don't like to take into account all the facts.
One suspects if the anti doping agency caught up with Canelo maybe 3 or 4 wees earlier it wouldn't have been trace amounts they uncovered. Didn't it ever strike you as odd the way Canelo didn't stop going in the rematch but now can only manage 8 rounds without blowing out of his a$$?Leave a comment:

It's directly quoting Loeffler! Lol! GGG has 2 losses, Ward has none! GGG only went up for Canelo, yet he was "Mr. Anybody from 154-168!" Canelo went up an became Undisputed @ 168! GGG will always be remembered as Canelo's side piece!

I block it out with dollar signs because the site will entirely block out the word and I want you know that I know you’re puss. Smith quit trying to win no matter what excuse you want to make. Want to see someone try to win with 1 arm and not b***h up, watch Russell jrs last fight. Saunders quit plain and simple. A 40 yr old ggg who didn’t do much until the last 4 rounds still did more than both of those guys combined. You can celebrate mediocrity if you’d like to but don’t get emotional and whiney just because I don’t share that same sentiment. Ya tender hearted phag.
Smith didn't quit he had his bicep punched off meaning there was nothing he could do but block and try to fight with one arm.
BJS got his face caved in. His team said they called it off as well.
These are facts.
Once again you got butthurt and this time by my name
Dawg im not even acting like a tough guy yet here you are crying in your moms basement covering your online profanity with dollar signs and other crap.
It's okay for you to be gay.

What does that even equate to though? The first time they fought GGG won (most important), the 2nd fight Canelo had clearly used PEDS but still couldn't beat him (should've been a draw) and the third fight was irrelevant. So all this talk of who's resume is better etc is not important because when they actually fought it was 1-1-1 (even though Golovkin was 35, 36 and 40 years old respectively.
On a resume does it state the age of fighters? Does it state that Canelo beat 40 year old versions of Mosley, Baldomir and Golovkin? Does it state that Kovalev was a disinterested, 36 year old alcoholic? All you see are wins, which when you dig a bit further means nothing cosidering the collosal advantages Canelo had in his favour. Real boxings fans can see this, fan boys can't...

Smith didn't quit he had his bicep punched off meaning there was nothing he could do but block and try to fight with one arm.you didn’t state facts. You got emotional that I said the weak minded Brits quit against Canelo, you came to their defense to defend the quitting and to use Canelo’s bicep punch approach as to why canelo considered him such a threat when I reality he wasn’t a threat. I see what you’re doing though, you’re trying to deny your emotional responses by deflecting and trying to say my simple comment was emotional. Same way you’re deflecting your gay obsession with canelo onto me. You also call yourself bully online because in real life you’re a pu$$y. Just accept your reality. You’re not fooling anyone. Nobody with that b***h name Dean has ever been tough.

that entire article is a hit piece. we don't know the conditions of the offer.
We have Ward's own words
"I'm not fighting GGG at 164" 50/50 offer
"I'm not fighting GGG at 168" 50/50 offer
Ward ducked. Period.Leave a comment:
