Comments Thread For: Zurdo on Canelo: We Used to Spar All the Time; Best Should Fight the Best

Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez continues to insist that he has no qualms fighting Mexican countryman Canelo Alvarez. Alvarez, the undisputed 168-pound champion, turned heads recently when he stated he was not interested in fighting fellow Mexicans, because it would be akin to committing an act of cultural treason. But many observers and fighters pointed out that all-Mexican fights have been a vaunted tradition in the sport and responsible for some of the greatest moments inside the ring

Canelo has always fought the best available...that doesn't always mean the best according to divorced or soon to be divorced armchair boxing neophytes with man boobs and thinning hair or sanctioning bodies that sell three or four versions of their own belts in every weight class to the highest bidders...but the actual real best. Anyone who claims Canelo has avoided anyone or fought poor competition is a straight up hater with zero accomplishments in life, guaranteed.

          Zurdo overlooking Bivol
I don’t think he has much of a chance against Bivol let alone beg for Canelo

He is 44-0, I can`t remember any single his opponent.

After Bivol beats this clown, he will fall into obscurity again.4

O yes, I remember one. Barrera. the guy Bivol already beat before.

Canelos in a little pickle here.....Rematch Bivol in a fight where he more than likely loses again?Take the criticism of not fighting Zurdo should he win?Fight a dangerous Benavidez?Beterbiev?

Or does he take the path of least resistance and rematch Plant or drag up Jermall?

Watch Zurdo become the next Canelo.

Gets severely outclassed by Bivol just like Mayweather did to Canelo and then starts learning every tool in the book he can and becomes dominant for the next couple of years.

                  I wouldn't go that far.
His competition at 154 wasn't exactly murder's row.
Was Cotto and Kahn the best available at middleweight?
Was Rocky Fielding the best available at 168?
Was Kovalev the best available at light heavy?

                  Canelo is a great
but always fought the best available ?
                  No.
                  but
very few if any has done it over their career.
