It's the biggest fight in boxing for boxing fans not casuals it's intriguing for us who actually know of these guys as it's a true 50/50 in terms of casual appeal it has very little, You only have so much value and theres only so much money in the pot he can't be demanding ludicrous money because he's not a huge PPV star on his own and needs Spence. If he really wants the fight he should take 40 - 50% simple as.

There is no comparison here. Canelo puts butts in the seats at high prices in Vegas, brings in big sponsorship money to the event, and big money in overseas markets.
Neither Bud nor Spence is on that level.
Haymon is hedging his bets here. If the fight does a good PPV buy rate then Bud can get paid well. But giving both guys a big guarantee is a risk he’s not willing to take.

Well it implies he doesn't have faith in himself for that fight because no matter what it will be more money than he has ever got in his life so far so if he doesn't fight spence for millions then fights a no name/average fighter for 200k its pretty evident what's up. It's risk vs reward and he knows Spence is a real risk to his 0. I have no stake in this fight btw i think Spence will win but i'm not a "fan" of either guy but they are both very good fighters.

NOBODY is saying that they should get Canelo money of course not, however, what Plant was paid for Undisputed, Guarantees should be Close to that if not more

If Not then Bud has every right to say "No Thank You!" while fans will kick, cry and complain and call him a duck but come on, I cannot expect that man to make the same or even Less than what he made in previous fights vs the Likes of Shawn Porter to somehow now turn around and fight Spence for Less of the Same as that Guarantee was? Hell No

So fans need to understand, when fighters turn down fights sometimes Financially just didn't make sense to fight this guys for a Certain Amount of money when they have the option to fight a Less Tougher opponents for ALMOST the same money
