im a fan of him as a fighter too but he underestimates the public backlash from this. Just go on any British youtube video comments sections about it and see hes getting slaughtered

Charr fight will bomb and he deserves it for this bs
Tide has definitely turned on Fury judging by comments on social media.

I suspect he would have got away with just some criticism if he'd announced a weak fight. He could sell it as a keep busy before Undisputed and remind everyone of his last two opponents being forced and mandated respectively.

But this Joshua stuff has backfired. It looks like he tried to deflect from taking the weak fight by calling out Joshua and then running when he answered the call. Whether that's true or not, it's what it looks like.

Taken when Joshua fought him, that version of Takam beats a lot of fighters active today.

The Povetkin who Joshua fought was a very capable fighter, even years later 'He ****** out Dillian Whyte, and even before the knock out was clearly doing well in the fight'.

I don't think you are ignorant, but? You are kind of being ignorant just dismissing Joshua's opponents. Usyk, Ruiz it does not matter how you try and dress them down 'These are the best Heavyweights in the world then, and they are still the top rated fighters in the division now'.

Anthony Joshua fought a motivated, obsessed Wladimir Kiltschko in his 17th professional fight 'In-front of 80'000 fans, on home soil'. Kiltschko had endured three back to back training camps, and by his own estimation? Was in better condition for Joshua, than his was for Fury 'Kiltschko was 240 pounds vs Joshua vs 245 pounds for Fury'.

That is a hard fight, that is big pressure. And since that fight, back to back he has fought consistently at world class or elite level.

Joshua actually beat a better version of Whyte than Fury. Whyte could actually move back then.

Tyson Fury is number 1, I rank him as the number 1 Heavyweight. Fury has two mega wins, Kiltschko & Wilder. But outside of that, his resume is stacked with domestic to High end European level fights.

And once again, we are now back at European level. Tyson Fury's next fight, is a European level fight.

Anthony Joshua's next fight, is and will be levels above Charr. Joshua's next fight will be a world level.

I'll word this differently then, and quickly.

I talked **** about Wlad for like a decade before Joshua beat him. It'd be inconsistent of me to all of a sudden claim Wlad's a great win. I didn't give Fury much credit either I just talked more **** about Wlad.

Conversely I praised Charr for getting his ass beat well by Vitali and for kicking Ust's ass. It'd be inconsistent for me to flip now that Fury's fighting him. I'm fine with that fight.

As sad as it is they are better fans. Fury/Charr is so many levels below that lowly fight.

I won`t support considered N.1. fighting the guy ranked at N.62 by boxrec.

And I don`t care about excuses like "there is Usyk unification around the corner". If Fury is the best, he must fight at least contenders.
I agree. Charr is just absolute trash, no way to say no one else was available, as AJ was available! DDD would be available, I mean, even Otto Wallin rematch would of been better

Sometimes a fan is at their best by not supporting a shlt fight.....especially after all of the talking.

                It’s Fury’s M.O isn’t it?

I like Fury but it’s what he does. Top fight followed by terrible fight.

Im thinking he doesn’t fight again this year.

He had the biggest payday in boxing history on the table but never had any intention of actually making the fight.

He’s not some troll mastermind, he’s a bipolar guy on a bender.

Might as well just fight Chisora or Wallin again instead of Charr
