“Damn, the world really needs me.” "You’re looking at a walking, living legend."

No, your accountant reminded you you have 8 kids from 4 different baby mamas who require payment every month...

The whole world needed Wilder to come back? Hahahahahahaha

The statue was put there as confirmation of his accomplishments? No, they were put there through funds of the LDBC and other nutjobs. You haven't achieved anything other than money.

            You're a walking talking legend?

No, you're a very delusional coward and pathological liar.

It's also possible that we have. And his best was beating B level fighters while being lauded as elite.

Personally I want him to win a big fight and prove he was at that level. Or lose to someone like a Helenius and confirm he wasn't.

Strange to say that a near 37 year old, 45 fight veteran of the sport with 13 World title fights including 10 wins is pretty unproven at the level.

He still holds plenty of interest for me.

Always the best fighters. They keep on going and eventually take the highest paying fights.

Guys with a stable life tend to pick and choose their fights and retire on their own terms.

Think Tyson and Holyfield compared to Lewis.

We need more boxers who can't help but stick it in the next thing that walks past them.

Not an instructive example. Foreman initially retired at the age of 28 and when he was Wilder's age, he was still retired. So, yes, Foreman could still pull the trigger into his 40s, but it was after taking a 10-year sabbatical and he's really a one off rather than a paradigm of a path that other fighters are likely to follow.

As far as Wilder goes, I think there's evidence there in his last fight to suggest he can still pull the trigger no problem, but unfortunately for him, there was also plenty there to give Helenius a handy playbook on how to handle him. Fury was not very light-footed in that contest and though Helenius is far less talented than Fury, I think he may possibly be capable of following the blueprint.

They know that "honest" Fury is banned from the US, btw, this happens only to the best people, so all they have to do is win the purse bid (it won't be less than 60/40, maybe 55/45 though it won't even matter) and stage the fight in the US.
                    And voila!
