  • POLL: Who's The Baddest Man At Lightweight Right Now?

So let's just answer this straight out: Devin "The Dream" Haney is top dog. There's no dispute. However, sometimes the top dog isn't necessarily the champion at the weight division. Many think Tank beats Devin. Many think Tank beats everyone. Many think Loma is the guy. And now that Shakur is at 135, many believe he beats everyone. But after Shakur's fight with Robson, I think this is an interesting question.

Who does NSB believe is the baddest man at lightweight?

Note: I'm putting in Ryan Garcia right now because I think he's going back down to 135 for Tank.

Ryan Garcia isn't a LW anymore.

I say Shakur is since he's officially announced, he's campaigning at 135 now.

I think Tank if he was truly tested against them all would be my bet to come out on top

But he won't because he is being protected by his handlers so my vote goes to next in line Haney who actually will take risks

Are we basing this upon resume, skillset, KO power or culmination of all of these?

Shakur Stevenson still hasn't faced a proper lightweight despite that Robson was quite large, still though I would argue that having a win over Oscar Valdez, Jamel Herring and Robson Conceicao are comparable wins to JoJo Diaz, Jorge Linares and George Kambosos.

Devin Haney never really dominated any elite fighter until Kambosos whom he has his number based on his style since it doesn't take much to outbox him since he is a limited counter puncher, Haney shouldn't had been that competitive against Old Linares and Featherweight JoJo Diaz.

Ryan Garcia only faced no names until Campbell whom he couldn't just lose rounds and one-shot him getting knocked down by the unactive fighter who was robbed against Linares, went the distance with Tagoe in his comeback who hasn't lost ever since his debut however he never really faced anyone of note and Fortuna despite being a former champion at 130 hasn't really won against any rankings fighters at lightweight, losing to Easter, Granados almost hospitalized him before he fell off the ring and losing to JoJo at his lightweight debut even if it was competitive.

Gervonta Davis faced no names in Barrios and Romero, pulled Leo Santa Cruz two weight division who was already feather fisted fighter at those divisions, he managed to get wins due to his insane work rate.

Tank was losing most of the rounds against these fighters in search of the knockout despite his boxing skills in which he can't afford to do against actual elite fighters, Isaac Cruz is noteworthy, but he hasn't faced anyone at this point in which people were writing him off and Tank regretted facing him off.

Lomachenko looked dominant, skilled and powerful in all his wins, lost facing a difficult opponent in nut punching Salido in his second fight, beating Gary Russell Jr in his third match, Roman Martinez, Prime Rigondeaux, and in his lightweight debut he defeated Jorge Linares coming from a 12 win streak in way better fashion than Haney did with a faded one.

He also dominated Jose Pedraza, Luke Campbell, Masayoshi Nakatani, and Richard Commey in which all are big lightweights while Lomachenko in actuality is a featherweight.

In his fight against Teofimo Lopez he was largely unactive until he participated until the later rounds, coming out unscathed on his loss so I am not so sure how it would be if they had a rematch were both fought starting off from the first round.

But I am not sure, despite that he is the fighter he challenged himself the most with better wins than the fighters mentioned above, he lost a single fight at lightweight in which a 0 is highly regarded these days, would he be considered the most dangerous fighter in consideration to his losses?

I'd favour Shakur and Haney over the other guys, not sure who would win between them though.

IF they all fought I'd pick Tank to beat them but considering they are all tied down in the promotional B.S. we will never know and it's all just opinion

Loma still bosses them all on the same night.
