Pavlik's significant wins are over Taylor, who, even by looking at him at any point in the past five years, can see his heart is not into it- he has no fire in him, only a kind of worrying doubt. I do like Pavlik, and I go to Boardwalk Hall every time he fights, but what is it making him so impressive? Gary Lockett?

I remember the first thing that soured me was the HBO Countdown leading up to Pavlik V. Hopkins. The entire Pavlik team sounded so... smug. Jack Lowe was even offensive, dismissive against Hopkins (!)... I really blame Lowe to a degree. He came in with a Plan A *only*.. no Plan B, Plan C, etc. B-Hop, on the contrary, is a walking encyclopedia of boxing plans.

And, everytime you saw Kelly, he was playing darts, or being a 'man of the people', which is cool, but implied he was taking B-Hop lightly. Hopkins was training non-stop, living for the fight. Said alot.

As for Pavlik fans, you've got to witness them in Atlantic City in person. Before the main event, no less than 5 actual fist-fights had to be stopped in the audience, due to Youngstown fans. Quite a scene. Haven't observed that in any other fight I've seen- but I've seen it in all 3 Pavlik fights I went to.
