I know that sounds mind blowing but if you analyze the fight its obvious. Canelo is smaller, slower, worse cardio, throws half as many punches. When do you ever see the slower, smaller fighter with less cardio ever over come that vs an elite fighter?

'Counter punching' is not something magic. You cannot counter punch effectively when you are much smaller, slower, and struggle with cardio.

I want to see that fight happen but you can't argue against what Canelo is saying though. Benavidez hasn't done anything really but the fight should happen solely because the fans want it and it's far more interesting than the Canelo-GGG III was

Besides that he has been the champ twice and was stripped. Besides that Canelo has fought many guys who had "done nothing" to "deserve" a fight ... ala Liam Smith, Angulo, Kirkland (way past prime), Khan (moved up 2 div's), to name a few.
