GGG Career Dedication Thread

You're not really being any better yourself though are you? You seem to have a problem with people criticising Canelo but seem to think it's okay for you to **** on fighters all the time. That's a bit hypocritical in itself isn't it?Comment

They're not aiming the same level of snobbery at GGG but you don't seem to be aiming the same level of criticism at certain fighters either. You spam and troll certain fighters. Seem to be just as biased and negative as the people you complain about.Comment

''Because it's not a positive thread man''
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The videos are of PRIME GGG fighting his opponents. No trickery involved. Actual names, actual fights. Call them what you will.
''Exceptional fighter........no breaks......others got breaks.....''
Yes. GGG is better than his resume. This is when the excuses come pouring out.
No one here at BS.com could have managed GGG any better than those he had. To say the people he had around him did him a disservice is lame. Loma spent most of his life wearing head gear too and he somehow made a himself to be the man to beat. He had as much backing as he needed to fulfill his promise. No one was ducking him and can't no Groupie supply links to back up that claim.
You are kinda correct. I do have an issue with him not keeping his promise.
His fans make it almost impossible to root for him with their blatant hypocrisy. They don't have to like Nelo, but aim that snobbery at GGG as well. Who's to say if PRIME GGG fought more serious minded boxers, if GGG would have been in a position to win the Nelo sweepstakes ? Had he moved up and fought bigger ''bums'', he masy have ran into his own boogeyman.
That's another strike against GGG. Chasing a worthless MW record. Or should be worthless if a fight fan is honest. Wow......GGG KO'd how many MW cans in a row ?!?!? As if a Groupie would ever ask themselves that question. GTFO of that dead div and make a new name for yourself, but nah.
Nelo was a young boy fighting men. Less than 50 practice fights. He had bigger fish to fry.
I think I covered the main bits in a Quentin Tarantino way ?
Loma was snapped up by about the biggest promoter in the world straight out of the ammys and the red carpet rolled out for him... that's virtually the opposite of what happened to GGG who was coaxed into leaving the ammy ranks by Universum a crooked German promotion who were to fail a few years later amid rising leagal troubles. Like I say you just don't know your history if you're even attempting to make a comparison between em.
In fact it was the against the odds success of HBO in promoting GGG - and Kovalev to alesser extent - to the US audience after they had proved less than enthusiastic about other Eastern Euros (the Klits spring to mind) that really opened the doors for the next wave of fighters from the former Soviets and set the standard for the fast tracking of these elite ammys that we've become accustomed too, but if you'd been following back in 2011 - 2013 or so you'd know that neither GGG nor Kovalev got that kinda 5 star treatment at the start of their careers at all. You even get how this works - you understand that talent is only a part of it right? Most of what determines how big a star a fighter will be and the opportunities they get is which promotion signs em up and which networks and sanctioning bodies get behind em.
And what promise? 'I'm open to offers from anyone from 154 to 168' isn't a promise, it's an invitation at a time when he genuinely was struggling to get opponents if for no other reason than that HBO was offering his opponents peanuts - but that ain't exactly Golovkins fault is it? In conjunction with the statement '.. and willing to move up or down for the right fight' it becomes virtually meaningless to the extent that I genuinely can't understand why people even bring it up. After all - every single fighter in the world is 'open to offers from adjacent divisons' and every single fighter in the world would fight in an adjacent divison for the 'right' money or titles. Course, you did hit the nail on the head with one thing - the reason folk like to rub GGGs fans in the face with it is precisely because some of em were insufferable - using it to claim 3 seperate divisons were all avoiding him which was clearly absurd.
You will maybe say he should have moved up, but when exactly? There was literally less than 3 years between him debuting on HBO and him becoming mandatory to a undisputed belt in a megafight in his chosen divison - to a man who just spent 2 years in limbo prior to that that's moving at damn lightspeed - like he's really gonna turn his back on HBO in 2014 or 2015 after he's careers finally started going somewhere? Ridiculous.
Problem you got is trying to compare apples to oranges - by the standards of the blessed few 'made' superstars like Canelo or Floyd or Oscar his career pales, but by the standards of the vast bulk of regular fighters and champions it's exceptional - less than 1% of fighters will ever be a boxing world champion, probably not 1 in a thousand will become a unified Champ or make more than a handful of defenses. Is what it is.
Anyways - I'll try to keep it brief - you say you find GGGroupies insufferable - and sure some of em are - there's always a contingent in any fanbase - but you never wonder why people troll on Canelo? Sorry man, but when it comes to trolling it's nothing to do with how accomplished or skilled the fighter is, it's mainly about how annoying their fans are, and for all that I respect Canelo as a fighter there's some - a minority - of his fanbase that really are super irritating. You know how you feel about the worst of the Golovkin fans? Well... kinda like that really.Comment

GGG was relatively well managed once he hit the US and HBO got behind him but that wasn't enough to get him the fights. It isn't for most fighters, it just is what it is. He wasn't from a country with a built in fanbase, didn't really get his break until much too late in his career and signed with a minor promoter (K2) with little to no pull in the US - though not for want of trying (Arum is on record as saying that he wouldn't touch him when approached in 2010/11 because of his ongoing legal dispute with Universum).

The gist is GGG was a dude and Nelo was a different dude on separate roads leading to the same place ? Excuses be damned ?
I don't care about people ''trolling'' Nelo. That's fun.
What's even more fun is how they disappear when I get my turn.Comment

Let's proceed with no further digressions
Some people may not have realized just how dangerous this next opponent was....
Clearly the toughest shrimp boxing has ever known. Just not quite tough enough.
After a grueling string of battles where the outcome was never certain, PRIME GGG took a break and fought a certified gatekeeper....
The gatekeeper was overwhelmed by GGG's determination to be greatComment
