I don't think JMM could clear out the JWW division but he would **** on Hatton in my opinion. Hatton probably isn't knocking Marquez out, marquez will trade, and Hatton's chin in suspect at best.

Marquez would ko him inside of 10.

it would be a good fight for JMM. if Hatton is still undecided in 3-4 months time about his return

maybe JMM can fight Katsidis in the meantime.

**although if Valero can successfully get by Soto in November, Valero-Katsidis would be a good one.

Even Ricky hatton can give him fits at 140, do to teh size difference and styles of each fighter!!!!!!!!!
He looked that way against Floyd ...... And that's understandable.

If Hatton can start brightly, and take Marquez's shots, then he has a good chance. A good, big money, and a potential classic fight.

do you really think just the weight loss effects Hatton's punch resistance?

seriously out of all the elite fighters out their Hatton probably is one of the easier to find. Throw in his lax defensive style with 47 pro fights, and anyone's chin will get broken down over time ... plus it's widely known about Hatton's in between fight lifestyle.

so is it really just the weight loss? cuz I'd think a majority of the fighters have to cut weight.

Hatton's fight style if anything has to be taken into consideration as well.

On the same note, Marquez's chin isn't looking to handy these days. He was badly wobbled against Diaz, and Mayweather knocked him down, and gave him shaky legs. Pacquaio also knocked him down three times in a round. While he took Pacquaio's shots better than Hatton, we must remember that Marquez has a superior defence.

I can guarantee that this fight will be a great war. A good matchup of styles in my opinion. One aggressive counter puncher VS one aggressive brawler.

Marquez's chin may not be granite like it once was; but Hatton isn't exactly a bomb throwing beast and his chin is much, much worse than Marquez's in my opinion. I've always thought Hatton was an extremely overrated fighter because of his mediocre chin. Once he starts getting tired the lightest power shots wobble him like he got hit by a baseball bat.

Ricky will not be able to make 140 anymore.

Hatton's chin wasn't the same after he lost to Mayweather. Previous to that, he walked through Tszyu's shots, and stood up to the power of a natural welterweight in Collazo, and a solid puncher in Urango. He has taken a lot of punishment in his career, but the weight loss is the single biggest factor in his weakened chin. Hatton looked like a dead man at the Pacquaio weigh-in.

JMM needs to fight someone else besides Hatton. The man deserves money now that his career is coming to a close. But I still want it to be against some guys that are either a threat or halfway decent. I'm not interested in seeing JMM fighting Khan, Hatton, or Morales. I wouldn't fault JMM if he came back for an easy fight though because he went through hell with Pacquiao, Casamayor, Juan Diaz, and then Mayweather. But I would still want him to fight guys like Alexander and Bradley at least eventually. I've got high standards for even my favorite fighters. I can't help it. He can still make history by winning more titles than Barrera, Morales, and Chavez. And Hatton brings nothing to the table where that is concerned. The fight would just be a cash grab.
