If there's one thing you learn after a big fight is who the posters on here who are worth a dime. True nuthugging/hating never shines more than in the immediate aftermath of a big fight.

I want to see Shane vs Floyd because it had the potential to be a great, competitive fight. And as much as I favour Floyd to UD him, I still want to see how Floyd responds to fighting someone as tough, big and fast as SSM.

Do I want to see Floyd vs Pac? Of course. That fight has to happen, and it will at some point, for both fighters. But Floyd has to at some point fight Shane too. For the record, I think he beats Pac, Shane and Coto.

But guess what? Hypothesising doesn't mean **** when the fight can actually be made.

So stop behaving like fannies because a legitimate challenger called out your favourite fighter.

I realize that the whole "Shane previously ducked Floyd" issue is contentious, and Mayweather detractors don't buy it, despite visual evidence, and several media reports. So, I didn't even bring that up. Or need to.

Yup after the Vargas win he ducked him big time probably so his boss could get a shot but who knows..

I'd personally leave Floyd vs Pac as the last fight, because it will be a mammoth event, with the winner as the last man standing. Plus, Shane is not exactly young, and I don't want to see a 40 year old SSM against Floyd.

            Ten Years of Ducking

It also is worth remembering the interminable delays Mosley caused for Mayweather on at least two occasions earlier in their careers, when the fight made all kinds of sense, only for Mosley to shy away.
Ten years ago, when a fight between them would have matched two of the brilliant, rising stars in the sport, Mosley balked. He and his father and then-trainer, Jack, were at Van Andel Arena the night Mayweather brought Grand Rapids its first championship fight, after which Jack Mosley was asked to assess his interest in the matchup.

For $10 million, his son would take the fight, Jack Mosley said, knowing that Mayweather had earned a $150,000 base purse for that night's lackluster decision over Carlos Rios, and that Mayweather-Mosley wasn't worth eight figures even if the purses were combined, then multiplied by two.

They traveled divergent paths for years thereafter. Mosley moved up to welterweight and defeated De La Hoya, only to lose twice to Vernon Forrest. Another win over De La Hoya boosted him again, only to fall victim to a pair of losses to Ronald "Winky" Wright.

It took until mid-2006, after Mosley scored consecutive knockouts over Fernando Vargas, before Mayweather-Mosley made sense again.

Mosley decided to take a vacation instead, leaving Mayweather to fight Carlos Baldomir.

So what would encourage Mayweather, whose eye is on bigger prizes against other marquee opponents, to agree to such a fight now that it benefits Mosley?

            Probably nothing.

              pretty much.

"Now correct me if I am wrong boxing buffs but didn’t Mayweather want to fight Shane after the second Vargas fight in which Shane proclaimed live to everyone watching HBO PPV that he had a sore tooth and needed a vacation? Or did everyone miss that or let it slip their minds?

Whatever the case you can YouTube that too. But this goes back even further then the second Vargas fight it goes back almost 10 years ago when Floyd was at 130 and Shane at 135 and Mayweather said he wanted Shane and Shane’s dad Jack said they would fight him for 8 figures when Shane was making low 7 figures and I mean low 7 figures. What does that say to you?

To me when you purposely price yourself out of a fight by that kind of a margin it means I thing: your scared and don’t want the fight. Mosley can say whatever he wants to the main****** public but true boxing fans know what it is; he is at the end of his career and he needs Mayweather to make the kind of payday he has craved his entire career only problem is where was he when Mayweather and himself were young and Floyd wanted that same chance?

But now its ok to call a guy out and spread lies to the public and tell which bits and pieces of the truth that you feel necessary to make a fight happen."

No ****wit, YOU are the one crying. You're the fanny who can't cope with Shane calling out Floyd. The rest of us don't live our lives vicariously through their favourite boxers and get pained when someone dares challenge their hero.

If Cotto beats Pac, he merits a shot at Floyd BEFORE Shane. Miguel has a belt. He has more fans than Shane. He already beat Shane. And he beat Clottey while Shane was out begging for money. And, miguel was likely victimized by a cheater, whereas Shane was a cheater himself.

On nearly every level I can think of, Miguel should get a shot before Shane.
If you view that as "nuthugging", then you just are not objective.

I don't get why floyd fans don't want to see floyd/mosley. its arguably the best boxing match at 147 lbs.
