I find it hilarious that Canelo thinks this fight defines his rivalry against GGG.

I find it hilarious that Canelo thinks this fight defines his rivalry against GGG.

I’ve seen him and those DAZN stooges pushing that narrative. It’s utter bullsh**.

This third fight is well past it’s sell by date and GGG isn’t the same fighter from 4-5 years ago. Canelo beating a 40 yr old Golovkin doesn’t really define anything and boxing history tells us that.

When we think of Ray Leonard vs Tommy Hearns, do we think about Leonard-Hearns 1 in 81 or Leonard-Hearns 2 in 89?

When we think of Leonard vs Duran do we think of the 2 fights in 1980 or the 1989 fight?

Same can be said about Tarver-Jones 3, B-Hop-Jones 2. You can even go back as far Saddler-Pep 4 in 1950 or Fullmer-Robinson 3 and 4 in the 60’s. The list is endless.

Beating an aged faded version of your rival who you’re now expected to beat comfortably doesn’t define a rivalry. Especially when you’re the guy who delayed the third fight. It’s absolutely laughable.

Yep its a joke. Theres been too much distance between this fight and the first two for it to count the same. Especially considering GGG was already 35 when the first one happened.

Fighting a semi retired career middleweight at 168 5 years after he got a gift draw? When you spent that last 5 years saying you’d never fight him again?

nahhh. This defines him entirely. Basically showcases his entire career as a cherry farmer.

EDIT - also, you forgot he delayed the first two fights also.

His legacy with GGG will be
        1. Dropped a belt to duck prime GGG
        2. Got a gift draw against a slightly faded GGG
        3. Got the second fight delayed and stripped of the IBF belt due to popping for PEDs
        4. Got a gift win against an even more faded GGG
        5. Ducked the trilogy for four years
        6. Dragged a 40 year old GGG up to a new weight class

Golovkin at about +350 underdog says all you need to know.
Sure G's got a chance, but if he does win it's a big upset.

Good list. Those are what bum hunter GGG deserves.

If he's a bum hunter why did Canelo get beat by him twice, drop a belt to duck him, duck him for another four years, then drag him up to 168?
