I agree with you that styles does make fights but if Cotto was able to take Clottey's, Mosley's, Judah's and Plasterito's best punches; theres' no question that he will be able to take Pacquiao's punch but the question is wether Pacquiao will be able to handle Cotto's power.

The fight will definitely not be one sided but Pacquiao is going to fall into Cotto's trap cause Pacquiao likes to brawl when he gets hit. If Pacquiao decides to get Macho with Cotto and brawl.... He will get KO'd.

Marquez was quoted saying after his post fight interview on the differences between Pacquiao and Mayweather - "They have different styles. Floyd is very clever. He is 100% defensive figher. He is a good counter puncher and Pacquiao is a guy that likes to fight".

If Pacquiao decides to go head up with Cotto and fight like a brawler... KO'd....

Pressure fighters almost/always give PBF a hard time till he figures them out... In a PAC/PBF clash, the first 4 rounds will be the key... If PAC fails to impose his will(ala castillo) during this rounds, then he is bound to lose the fight... One thing though, dont know how PBF will react to a solid straight left from PAC. If JMM can touch PBF, so will PAC... PEACE

That's what exactly I am telling.. Cotto should not aim to outpoint Pac if he wanted a sure win, he should go for a KO! Because surely he could not deal with Pac speed, the result will be most likely the opposite. Pac would outpoint Cotto if Pac is not lucky enough to land a solid shot to Cotto's chin.

Pac fights similar to Mosley (they call that power boxing), he does not circle the opponent but attacks in angles. Pac is more aggressive between his offense and herky jerky upper body movement makes an opponent offense suffer and gun shy. Since with Roach Pac's right hook has developed into an additional weapon he can use effectively. Also Pac loves to engage and when he gets hits he puts his hands up and wants to go on the offense right away. IMO the size difference is the biggest obstacle and I wouldn't want to watch PBF vs Marquez again. And you are right Marquez and FMJ are not the same fighter and you just witnessed which was the better fighter.

If they were around the same weight I would agree but as history has shown chances favor a good big fighter against a small good fighter.

146 pounder will react by clinching so pac doesnt go into his wild combinations, that extra weight he puts on him while clinching will wear pac down if they fight.if that fight happens ,it will be a one sided match just like jmm,and 146 pounder will just pot shot him all nite but pac is used to fighting at the welterwight limit and he will have his moments of course.pac lunges in with his shots and at times he has his eyes closed and swings waaaaay to wildily,146 pounder will easily connect with that left hook and drop pac.

style makes a fight and cotto is no pbf. cotto is not invincible either, he will be caught by a pac's straight left or uppercut much the same way as cotto will land his daunted left hook and jab against the pacman. but in no way that this fight will be a one-sided just like the pbf-jmm fight.

cotto maybe damaged but this weekend proved that weight matters people should wake up and smell the coffee cotto im sure is way confident after seein gayweather beat jmm,hes thinkn im not going to lose to no liteweight , unless pac brutally kos cotto pac should not even be in consideration to fight fraudweather. mosley ,williams or margarito are the only ones who should fight fraudweather, pac would get beat as bad or worse as jmm did.fraudweather just took pacs pnd for pnd that much is clear
