Dont be fooled. If he was he would have provided some hard evidence and not referencing the same information that we the average fans have access to.

Not to the hardcore 2% that spend hours daily on a boxing board. But as always, you guys feel that you are representative of the boxing populace. You are not. You have way more information.

The general fan is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less focused on weight than you guys are.

        Still. 152 at the official 10-day weigh-in.

So 10day weigh-in = fight night weigh-in??? Do you even know the purpose of the 10 day weighin???

It's just about 99% guarantee that Mayweather was roughly 152 fight night. I'm good at sizing up fighters and their weight based of how they look. Mayweather weighed in roughly 147-149 for his previous welterweight fights. He looked absolutely identical OTHER than slightly more bulk especially around the back and on his biceps/arms that would be exactly equivalent to 4-6lbs worth of extra muscle as compared to previous welterweight outings.
This would therefore equate perfectly with him coming in at around 150-152lbs at fight night.
He was only 4lbs or so heavier than Marquez on fight night though keep in mind this doesn't anywhere near mean that they were on equal terms physically. Mayweather's bodyfat percentage was far lower and his musculature was far greater than Marquez at that weight thus making Marquez far slower and more cumbersome relatively speaking and allowing Mayweather to have huge advantages in the departments of fast twitch snapping speed/reflexes/counters.
Don't get me wrong, this fight would have gone the same exact way whether it was at 130lbs or 147 but at least Marquez wouldn't have looked nearly as bad as he did in this outing.

Clearly. And for other fighters, it is relevant to see if they are on-track. And if the contracted weight is at risk. FMJ's weight is consistent.

For FMJ, the process failed. . At no point prior to fight week was there any evidence that FMJ was in cut mode. He just didn't even really try.

Rest assured that there is very little you know about the boxing business that i do not. Very little.

Yeah ; a week before the fight and before the official weigh in.

Me and you get along great Dios ; but you're really grasping for straws on this one.

How the hell does an official weight one week before the official fight prove what the weight was on fight night?

The answer is simple ; it doesn't.

I should also mention however that the 148lbs fightnight weight of Marquez is also suspect due to the fact that Marquez didn't have to 'drain' or 'starve' himself to make the 142lbs weight due to the fact that he was coming UP rather than going down in weight so there should be no reason why on fight night he would magically come in 6lbs heavier. Take Floyd for example, when he would fight at welterweight he would weigh in and also fight at almost an identical weight simply because he wasn't that heavy and didn't have to "drain himself" prior to the official pre fight weigh in so by fight night he would only gain maybe an extra pound if even that. So how is it possible that Marquez who was moving UP and did not drain himself suddenly gained a whopping 6lbs at fight night?
The answer could only logically be explained by what Jim Lampley and Manny Steward said in their prefight exchange:
They pointed out how the prefight unofficial weigh in is just that, unofficial and as such the fighters often don't treat it seriously and just walk in off the street and step on the scales with full clothes on, or at least sweat pants/sneakers etc. So if you ask me, there is a very strong possibility that Marquez's unofficial fight night weight of 148lbs was with some amount of clothes on and he was really more like 144lbs to Mayweather's 150-152lbs on fight night. Thus a possible 8-10lbs difference.

Seems to be a point for the haters. HOWEVER, don't start crying now, how many lbs did Mayweather give up to De la Hoya when he valiantly challenged him at 154 for his very first fight at said weight?
How many lbs did Floyd give up to Castillo (it was 9 pounds) when he challenged the champ, came in as underdog AND fought for the first time at 135lbs (i.e. moving up one division for the first time and immediately challenging the best there AND giving up 9lbs on fight night, AND injuring his arm in the first round and still winning)?

So how come haters give it to Mayweather and scoff at how he won a mere "SD" against Oscar or "arguably lost" to Castillo when he did exactly what JMM is doing yet when it's Floyd that is the heavier suddenly he's the bad guy. = hypocrisy at its finest.

                    .
Keep in mind that many of the guys on this board are unathletic. They don't realize what adding ten pounds of muscle on a 5'8" guy with PBF's frame would look like.

The idea that Mayweather added ten pounds of lean muscle since the Hatton fight is beyond ludicrous.

He is both lean and dark-skinned*. Both factors exacerbate the visual impression that he is bigger than Marquez.

*Yes. there's a reason why bodybuilders apply dark tans.
