Not sure why any real boxing fan would want to see a fighter drain himself just to benefit Canelo l.
Different perspectives! I see Bivol's statement as confidence that he can not only beat him at 175, he can beat him at 168 too! I salute that! On the other hand, you don;t have confidence that he can do it! You're already blaming Canelo, when it was Bivol who made the statement! Like I said, B-Hop agreed to fight Oscar @ 157, came in 156, and got the KO, and he was 36! The great ones do that type of thing! Pacquiao offered to fight Loma at 140, but Loma said hell no! I respect Pac for that! Anyway, Canelo wants him @ 175! I think that's a mistake, but I guess you have no problem with Canelo going to 175, only Bivol going to 168!

I will also say its a lot easier to go up than go down in weight. The onus is for fighters to go up in weight to seek challenges and greatness, not to drag champions down so they are most likely weight drained. I don't see any fat on Bivol - pretty sure he'd be weight drained at 168 - not sure why he said that other than to try and get a decent payday.
However, he did say that, not Canelo, so please don't make this about Canelo draining Bivol. Canelo said he would fight Mayweather @ 152, and then Mayweather got blamed for taking Canelo's offer! That's BS! YOU would say it's easier to go up, because you're not getting punched in the face! If Canelo is 185, and melts down to 168, that doesn't mean he's ready to be punched by Bivol @ 175! Do you think Bivol is going to be 175 on fight night? Most fighters fight nowhere near their walk around weight! That's why I have so much respect for the Masters, like Rigo, GRJ, Loma, Pacquiao, and Mayweather! I give Canelo props for even attempting to fight at LHW! He does not belong there!

Size wasn't a factor it was all skill and Bivol showed that he has way more than Canelo. Canelo doesn't deserve a rematch he lost 10-2. It wasn't a competitive fight. He should stay at 168 and start defending his titles in that ass division or vacate them since he only wants to chase legacy and belts don't matter.

first you said it was Bivols idea to fight canelo at 168. That was false. The article shows he was answering a question. Secondly, asking a fighter to move up to a weight class that’s he’s already fought in, been champion in and already has weighed as much as lhw since he was 23 is wayyyy different than asking a fighter to drain himself 7 pounds to fight in a weight class that he’s never fought in. You’re not being logical. Canelo won’t even go back down to 160 and he spent years saying he needed to grow 5 pounds into that weight. Now you may be cool with the canelo tactics of draining fighters, asking for rehydration clauses, or using banned substances to make a smaller weight class in order to have a size advantage, but most real boxing fans don’t salute that.

Canelo s flat footed and he will have trouble fighting every very skilled guy with a great movement and the jab.

To be honest, Canelo only looks great fighting average guys. He is overrated.

Of course size was a factor. Canelo's power seemed to have less of an effect at 175 lbs while even some of Bivol's jabs were rocking Canelo's head back.

On top of the style matchup which was a bad one for Alvarez.
