Short memory doesn't work around here. The cards were 115-113. Canelo doesn't need to beat him just needs one mishap which is ruled as a knockdown or some point deduction. I'll say in a rematch like AJ/Usyk Canelo can close the distance to about 9/3 maybe 8/4 (judges cards, not the actual fight) + 1 round advantage (1st around feel out automatically to canelo) and a mishap

The pandemic is over, and Bivol made the offer, not Canelo! Canelo is not a LHW, everyone knows that! If Bivol beat him at 168, he would prove that this is not a size advantage, but a skill advantage! Until then, it will always be seen as a size advantage! I don't think Canelo can beat neither Bivol, Zurdo, or Beterbiev @ 175! I give him 50/50 chance to beat any of them @ 168! By the way, I think Canelo vs. Benavidez @ 168 is 50/50 also! Size Matters! This was Bivols quote “Maybe I can make 168. Before Coronavirus, I was 100% I could make [168], but coronavirus gives me more [weight]. I was sitting at home raising my fat.”
This doesn’t sound like someone saying let’s run it back at 168 and canelo asking to do so would only be another example of canelo trying to gain an unfair advantage over an opponent. As far as canelo fighting at 175, let’s not forget him walking into the ring at 174 pounds at 23 yrs old to face angulo. Imagine how much he’s weighed in the ring since. He wasn’t at a weight disadvantage vs bivol. He was at a height and skill disadvantage.

Plant Benavidez and Charlo was all bigger than Canelo. Benavidez was getting touched by a smaller FMW Jr TMT fighter and put on his behind. I do not get the hype. Canelo beats all 3 of them. That's why Haymon keeps all of them undefeated and another 100 million on the table for Canelo. The pandemic is over, and Bivol made the offer, not Canelo! Canelo is not a LHW, everyone knows that! Canelo just cant move a 175lber even with tainted beef. Ramirez and Beterbiev (esp this one) probably stop him. Bivol is nicer, just outpoints you which is what he is going to do to Zudo Wilder 44-0Comment

If Canelo were even competitive in a rematch @175 it would be a shocker, certainly to me.
On the other hand, what if Canelo legitimately won? That should probably vault Canelo into an ATG list consideration
That's a huge WHAT IF?.. of course. I just don't see a wayComment

1. Once you reach a certain age and get to a certain walk around weight, you’re not dropping back down to a lower weight class in a healthy way. Pandemic or no pandemic. Canelo has been adamant that he can’t make 160 anymore. Same deal. 2. When did Bivol make this offer? because the quote I posted was after their first match. The pandemic is over, and Bivol made the offer, not Canelo! Canelo is not a LHW, everyone knows that! Oh well, Canelo didn’t want to give GGG his rematch until 4 years later. What goes around comes around.Comment

Agreed on Bivol's opinion, he does not need a rematch. He took canelo to school all 12 rounds...Last edited by MrShakeAndBake; 09-03-2022, 11:40 AM.Comment
