Anybody think that Cotto would've quit against Floyd if he was in JMM's position

Yea, Cotto would have definitely quit. Judging by how bad Mayweather was pressuring Marquez, those numerous, non-stop punches. Yea, Cotto would have definitely taken THREE knees AT LEAST! Cotto in Marquez' position= Cotto quitting. Yea. Definitely.

What did you just start watching boxing 2 weeks ago? You are a ****ing idiot.

Compare how Margarito fights to how Mayweather fights. TOTALLY different. Non-stop pressure vs counter-punching.

I wish you were close to me so I could punch you in the face.

I see no way that Cotto is competitive with that version of Floyd that we saw last night. People demand Floyd fight guys with the big fan bases and that's why we get these lame fights. Paul Williams and Shane Mosley are his only threats.
And Cotto beat Shane Mosley. If he was a hype job he wouldnt have wins over Quintana, Clottey, Mosley, Malanaggi, Judah, or Torres. He's taken on two guys that are stylistic nightmares for him, and competed well.

People on this board really need to understand boxing terminology better. Hypejob and bum are thrown around way too much.

Mayweather applys no pressure and generally throws one punch at a time. I doubt he could hurt Cotto, unless Miguel gets hit by something he didn't see. Miguel could be completely outboxed and outclassed for 12 rounds, but I don't think he'd quit.

Once Williams fights a guy who won't just stand in front of him..he'll get picked apart for 12 rds again..just like in the first Quintana fight..that's why I'm hoping he fights Sergio Martinez soon at 154..but again..he's irrelevant to the 147lb division..he's gone!..

Shane Mosley has a decent chance..but he'll get old the night he fights Mayweather..the Margarito fight got a lot of people pretty delusional..and forgot how he looked against Mayorga..even if it was at 154..he looked like ASS!..and the fact that Cotto beat him in a close but CLEAR decision!..

The reason I say Cotto has the best chance although he might also lose..is because he's a smarter fighter than people think..he can adapt in the middle of a fight..without being yelled at by his trainer to switch it up..if Cotto feels he needs to pressure and bully..he'll cut that ring off and flurry..if he feels he needs to box..he'll take some backward steps and go side to side trying to counter..

I feel that Cotto still loses a UD..but would be the one to be able to connect and give him a rough night..probably similar to the first Castillo fight..

nah... floyd set a slow as pace and potshotted.... that would not tax cotto's stamina. cotto will go 12 rounds and win atleast 4 rounds if not a few more.

Where did you get the idea the pbf suddenly became this pressure fighter? This fight with JMM is the chance to show that pressure as JMM is the smaller man. Not unless PBF surprises me in his future fights, he is not the guy that can make Cotto quit.

I don't think Mayweather can (or should I say 'will') hurt Cotto, but there's a possibility of the towel being thrown in or it being stopped between rounds if Mayweather has won every round up until the 8th and up and then chooses to put more than three punches together when he attacks

Quit against a plaster less defensive fighter not looking to mix it up? Hmmmmm, I guess I would stop been a fan then.
