It’s definitely up for debate. He was a fine fighter. He’d probly make it in by a nick.

It absolutely is not up for debate. You're just saying that to argue your girlfriend panty Cruz can get in

Mares won't get in but Santa Cruz (and, unfortunately, Broner) will.

I know there are way too many titles and weight classes these days, but even with that in mind, only 21 men have ever won a legitimate title in four weight divisions. They are:
        1. Tommy Hearns
        2. Sugar Ray Leonard
        3. Roberto Duran
        4. Pernell Whitaker
        5. Oscar de la Hoya
        6. Leo Gamez
        7. Roy Jones Jr.
        8. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
        9. Manny Pacquiao
        10. Erik Morales
        11. Jorge Arce
        12. Juan Manuel Marquez
        13. Nonito Donaire
        14. Miguel Cotto
        15. Adrien Broner
        16. Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez
        17. Mikey Garcia
        18. Donnie Nietes
        19. Kazuto Ioka
        20. Leo Santa Cruz
        21. Canelo Alvarez

Is it a watered down achievement in this day and age? Sure.

But it doesn't change the fact that half those dudes are already in the HOF and the rest will likely get in with time.

I'd wager that a significant portion of Mares' 4 year hiatus from the ring was spent sucking on a crack pipe to fool himself into believing he's HOF material.

Dude was meh as ****. Jhonny Gonzalez iced him dirty!

How do they even judge who gets in? What's the criteria exactly? Can Crawford get in? I'm a fan of his and he's a multi weight champ but people criticise his resume. What about Spencer? His best wins are thurmans leftovers and he's a one division champ. Golovkin spent his whole career in one division as well but has over 20 defenses and would of broke the record if he'd not got robbed twice. The standards need to be consistent and high.

Nobody wants to style their career after Mares, just their hair.

I agree pee pee poo poo. I like Canelo but honestly idk if I'd put him in the HOF. his achievements compared to past greats aren't there.

if someone like michael nunn or kulumbay aren't HOF, why should spence?

Well at least Palomino became lineal at 147 when it actually meant something

I dislike carnelo as much as anyone else but by the time he fought froid he had Baldimore, Gomez and mosley to his resume and not to mention cotto 2 fights after. They don't take into account how the loser opposition was at their careers at points of losing. Just name value I think

Haha missed me? My old punching bag lol
