it's not weightdrained btw.
he was either overtrained or overdieted.
weight drain is when someone cuts too much weight for the weigh in.
delahoya didn't cut too much weight. he was around 150 weeks before the fight.
he dieted and made himself too light.
same effect. he wasn't 100% but if you're gonna use an excuse then use the right excuse.

SMOKE & MIRRORS.
SMOKE & MIRRORS.
Mr.counterfeit cash & fans will say things like
"but floyd also fights big guys. He just doesnt pick on little guys, look at oscar at 154, baldomir at 147"
SMOKE & MIRORRS.
Mr.counterfeit cash will pick a big guys that he knows he can outbox & outmaneuver. Baldomir & oscar. His stay at 147 consists of fighting big name guys that are smaller or dont really pose any great threat.
vs sharmba mitchell - a aging lightweight juniorwelter he makes him move up to 147.
vs hatton - a career 140 pounder made him move up to 147.
now marquez - a 36 year old career featherweight with 2 fights at 135 vs a 38 year old casamayor who almost got knocked out of the ring by katsidis & got thoroughly outboxed by santa cruz, HE HAD TO MAKE HIM FIGHT A FULL FLEDGED WELTERWEIGHT.
Who's next Pacquiao?
What was worse is the sky sports broadcast of the fight & analysis. they just completely ignored the the obvious size discrepancy & just continued to hail mr.counterfeit cash as the second coming of ray leonard & compared it to leonards return vs marvin hagler.
utterly shameless.Comment

I think it's pretty small minded to speak for an entire group of people, many of which only share in common the fact that they are a fan of Mayweather. I personally enjoyed seeing Floyd *and* Juan- and if Juan had pulled up the upset, would this be as important to you? Juan Manual made the choice; he could have pulled out of the fight; he did not. I am sure if Floyd came in at 150, Juan would have thought he could get the victory.
But tell me this.. in your heart of hearts, do you think if Floyd weighed 142, the outcome would have been so different?
I personally think it's fine that there are lots of different viewpoints in boxing fandom... I think if people excuse Mosley's rude and unprofessional behavior post-fight, *that* is shameless.. it isn't like he was arguing about the weight difference between Floyd and Juan, was it? No- that was uncalled for- but do you speak out against that? (and if Floyd did the same thing, I wonder how this post would go.. hm.)Comment

Anywhere below Super Middleweight is basically filled with fighters who are all shapes and sizes. Seldom do fighters truly match up in frame/weight/height to make them seem like equals in the ring. In the very low weights (bantam and lower) they even out; but anywhere between is filled with people of all sizes.
Mayweather might have had a size advantage from the weight. But he had the speed and overall ability over Marquez regardless of weight.
And that holds true for every opponent Floyd has ever faced.Comment

Oh, Floyd picked Oscar..? I'm sure De La Hoya just jumped when Mayweather picked *him*. I'm one of your sinister Mayweather fans, but even I know that before 2007, Floyd was not in the position to go out and "pick" Oscar. Chase him maybe, but not 'pick'.Comment
